As a second partial government shutdown looms in Washington over border discussions, Gov. Gavin Newsom on Monday will order the removal of roughly 360 National Guard members from Californias southern boundary with Mexico, repudiating President Trumps characterization of a recent influx of Central American refugees and migrants as a national security crisis.
The announcement comes just one day before the governor delivers his first State of the State address Tuesday, setting the stage for Newsom to counter Trumps State of the Union address from last week.

Sounds like what the southern democrats wanted to do. What did that lead to again? ;)
Max Headroom is at it again. What a putz.
just stop funding these states...no more moola...california can slide into the ocean....I do not care about its quakes, fires or slides....I have said it before...cut this state loose
I wish a freight train was coming for these A-holes.

Trump will win the sanctuary city
battle with the census. But he needs
to enforce it. Anyone caught lying
in answering a census question about
citizenship faces a hefty fine. The
last case of conviction was in 1970,
though that conviction was for not
disclosing income. This will hurt
the Dems big time. But convictions
must be pursued.

To win, one must begin to fight
Might have been helpful, as part of his J-O-B, he actually FOUGHT sanctuary city policy & illegal aliens (aside from the tongue-bath ol’ Magoo gave some time ago...& the Pres. upholding the ILLEGAL D.A.C.A. [deferral upon deferral]).
Maybe they got mixed up in ‘Q’s’ stack of indictments /s
It’s a concerted effort to invalidate US citizenship
I wonder if the idea of PARTITION would mean anything?
It a USA border not a California border.
It would be such a shame if Gavin Nuisance was assaulted by a foreign national invader crossing the border.
I have to believe states adversely impacted by illegals could sue these permissive border staes whose lax policies enable an invasion that costs everybody, not just the open-door states.
Illegals have been counted in the Census and will continue to be counted. The Trump Administration just wants to include a citizenship question, which had been done for over 100 years, but was dropped after the 1950 Census.
Also, note that there are 15 to 20 million green card holders at any one time who are also counted. CA, TX, AZ, etc. have benefited from these counts with increased representation in Congress. The Census is also used to distribute various federal funds.
Trump just wants to count everyone and include a breakdown on their status. At this point, no one is suggesting changing Congressional representation. The courts have put a stop to the inclusion of the question. Trump is appealing it.
President Trump needs to pull all Federal dollars the Cauliphonicators are spending on Foreign Nationals.
The hell with global warming. Our biggest threat is the stress being placed on our medical community with all the disease from the illegals.
The real truth of the matter is that the Army and the Air Guard belong underneath a governor’s authority unless the president calls them to active duty.

This!!
Why was Obama able to tell Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer immigration was a federal issue and not a state issue, and now that Trump is President, California can do whatever they want on immigration?
Does California even have National Guard deployed at border? Is this just symbolic posturing?
We need regular army troops to patrol the border now.
These Democrat governors may have screwed up. If President Trump needs a declaration of an emergency in order to deploy National Guard troops, they might have just given him what he needs to nudge the weak-kneed Republicans in Congress away from their reluctance in supporting such a declaration.
Bump! {And a chuckle.}
Gov. Gavin Newsom is pro homelessness you go California.
