A series of prominent Democrats demanded Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's resignation on Friday, excoriating him for appearing in a racist yearbook photo showing one person dressed in blackface and another in the KKK's signature white hood and robes.
The calls came from a number of 2020 presidential candidates, members of Congress and prominent liberal organizations, all of whom said Northam's apology on the issue was not enough. The NAACP also called for Northam to leave office. Those calls, however, were not echoed by Virginia Democrats, including Sens. Tim Kaine and Mark Warner. Both said they were shocked and offended by the photos, but in separate statements both said it was time for the governor to think about what comes next for him and to listen to those he has offended. Northam, for his part, has vowed to finish his one and only term as Virginia governor, issuing a video statement on Friday evening where he apologized but pledged to remain in office.

I was sent the disgusting photo of Northam in Oct, 2018. I was not able to independently verify that the photo was of Northam therefore I did not publish the story. NAACP, the Dems in the VA House of Delegates and Senate, Kamala Harris, Corey Booker, and many others are calling for his resignation. Warner and Kaine made a major mistake supporting Northam.
Northam will resign tomorrow. The pressure is just too great. Now VA will have a black governor. Karma is a bitch.

Never Trumper, Ed Gillespie, handed the Governorship to Democrat, Ralph Northam, when Gillespie should have wiped up the floor with this Democrat, Northam who is nothing more but a full blown waste of humanity, dignity & he is the lowest form of human low life, & human, vermin/scum combined.

We’ll see how serious all this is between Monday and Friday of the coming week. If Dems are serious, they’ll ramp it it on Monday. If they aren’t hammering him on the Sunday talk shows, good chance Northam will dodge the bullet.
Good indeed. Virginia has been going down the tubes since Obama shipped in his supporters. Most of his administration settled in northern Virginia and have not left. This has swung the state from red to purple. The republicans have a very slight edge in the state house. Hopefully this is a wake up call to purge these vile baby killers and get back to a patriotic state.
Conservatives should look to his radical abortion views as reason enough for him to resign. It wasn't all that long ago dems could wear sheets and still hold elected office. Just ask Senator Robert Byrd.

Lt Gov Fairfax has a pedigreed democrat background, which has been carefully groomed. I wonder if this “revelation” has been brought to light to place Lt. Gov Justin Fairfax in position for 2020 or later. Harris/Fairfax, Biden/Fairfax?

Perhaps a tactical path forward would be to leave the neutralized Northam in place at allow him to go the way of the other Clintionian sanctioned McAlliff rather than elevate the operative Fairfax into the governorship with the follow-on appointment of a GOP Lt. Gov.
I would be interested to hear Kaine and Warner chime in (both Clintionianly sanctioned as well).
The sonofabitch is a big gun control guy too so I don’t care how they get him as long as he is gotten....even for harmless hijinks from decades ago.
VA has been turning blue well before Obama. Kerry won Fairfax County in 2004, the first time that had been done in 40 years. Mass immigration has turned VA blue. One third of Fairfax County is foreign-born. The ballot was issued in Spanish for the first time in 2012.
Also, there has been a flood of domestic liberals from the Northeast who want to be closer to the honey pot of DC. NoVA is one of the richest areas in the country. It drove the transformation of VA into a solid blue state. I lived there for 36 years until 2015 and still have a rental property in McLean. VA is gone as a red or purple state. It is solid blue from now on and will only get bluer.
