Yikes! Co-sponsor of Virginia's baby-killing law says she should have read it first

According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Virginia delegate Dawn Adams (D-Richmond) says she would not have co-sponsored Del. Kathy Tran (D-Fairfax)'s abortion bill, known as H.B. 2491, if she had known what was in it.

From RTD:

"I made a mistake, and all I know to do is to admit it, tell the truth, and let the chips fall where they may[."]

Adams ... said she believes women have "full authority to decide what is best for themselves and their bodies."  But she said she mistakenly believed Tran's bill would only repeal "onerous" abortion restrictions Republicans imposed in 2012.

"Had I researched each line of removed language, I would have seen that, and known that there was more research to be done.  None of this changes that I believe women must have safe legal options for abortion; but I also would have seen the utility of language that provides guidelines for how to ensure this."

Adams is a nurse practitioner with over 20 years' experience and a far-left Democrat well versed in abortion politics, so there's little doubt she was on the same page as Tran.  What makes her feigned regret even more obvious is the support and campaign funds she received from EMILY's List – an abortion PAC so radical that its founders have lobbied against a ban on partial-birth abortions and for zero restrictions on abortion up to and including the baby fighting its way down the birth canal.  To have the endorsement of EMILY's List, a candidate must support and vote for unrestricted abortion laws.

NARAL and Planned Parenthood also round out the list of abortion zealots who funded and endorsed Adams.

One of the stipulations of all the money Planned Butcherhood gave her was to NOT read any bills they gave her.

I’m no lawyer, so this idea is probably impossible, but — I’d like every law to be maximum 1 page in length. And I’d like them written at an 8th grade reading level.

Anything more than that is probably sneaky social engineering.

You have to pass a bill to see what’s in the bill defense.

Let’s take her word for it. She sponsored a bill she didn’t read. She should still be voted out because she just admitted to being incompetent.

She’s either for infanticide or she’s incompetent, take your pick. My guess would be both actually....

I wonder how many bills get rubber stamped this way. Someone gives you a 30 second soundbite of what it is and you sign on.

Here's some of her bio .... she's a medical professional. I'm not buying her excuse & neither are a lot of other people:

Dr. Dawn M. Adams is serving her first term in the Virginia House of Delegates representing District 68 (City of Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield).

Prior to serving as Delegate, Dawn has dedicated her career to serving her community, solving problems, and improving lives. For more than 20 years, Dawn has lived and worked in Richmond as a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, access to care researcher, health advocate and most recently, she served as the Director for the Office of Integrated Health for the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).

Kind of like watching your mother in law drive your Cadillac off a cliff. I’m conflicted. If libtards want to murder their kids should we really get in the way? If we were to propose they should be able to do so up until age 18 they would accuse us of “voter suppression”.

It is a bit much to expect legislators to familiarize themselves with regard to extremely controversial and contentious legislation affecting millions of people and whether babys live or die. I mean, c’mon. The check has already cleared!

Whether at the state level or the federal, every legislature needs to pass a law making it a felony for an elected official to vote on any piece of legislation that they haven’t fully read and can swear under oath that they understand. Punishable by a minimum of 5 years in prison and a fine equal to the sum total of all compensation paid to that elected official during their tenure in the office.

When the “Affordable Care Act” was in legislation transition, I read the bill (or I should say, several key parts of it).

It was unbelievable government bureaucratese-speak. To be able to read it, I had to bring it into a word processor, remove all the extraneous numberings, breaks, references, notes, and so on, and reassemble the parts I wanted to look at together again...assembled in English so I could read them.

I doubt any normal person can read such crap.

Eh. Look at the FBI and DOJ, they were MANDATED to run intelligence through the “Wood’s Procedure” and they ignore it they are in violation of the law.

They simply ignored it, and even though some things are moving through the judicial system slowly, they are moving glacially slow, and there are few of them.

But nobody has called anyone out on ignoring the legal guidelines for a FISA warrant...yet.
