Virginia lawmaker says she wouldn’t have co-sponsored controversial abortion bill if she had read it

A Virginia lawmaker sent an email to her constituents Wednesday night apologizing for attaching her name to a controversial abortion bill without reading it closely enough.

In a newsletter, Del. Dawn Adams, D-Richmond, said she "did not exercise due diligence" before co-sponsoring the abortion legislation with Del. Kathy Tran, D-Fairfax. Tran became the focus of a social media firestorm this week after Republicans circulated video of her saying the bill would allow abortions up until the moment of birth if one doctor certified that the mother's physical or mental health was at risk.

"I made a mistake, and all I know to do is to admit it, tell the truth, and let the chips fall where they may," said Adams, a first-term delegate who won a close upset victory in 2017 in her suburban district and could face a competitive re-election campaign this year.

Unfortunately, being able to read is not a prerequisite for Democrats in office.

The governor of VA, in defense of the bill, spoke eloquently about how the bill would allow the mother and the doctor deal with deformities and other problems the baby might have—namely DEATH.

As soon as he began talking, I immediately thought about the tv ad for the Shriners Children’s Hospitals. In the ad those children eloquently make their case of thanks that they were given a chance to overcome their disabilities—and overcome them they have. The Democrat governor and the other pols that supported the infanticide bill wanted no part in giving a pre born/new born a chance. Their solution is to sacrifice the baby to the god of convenience.

She is much more than a nurse. She is a nurse practitioner. In my state that designation allows her to examine patients, diagnose illnesses, and write prescriptions. Has she ever done this without reading what meds the patient is allergic to? Based on her admitted behavior as a legislator, it may be safe to assume that she has exhibited the same behavior as a nurse practitioner—failure to read.

Procrastinating isn’t a crime. I say it’s ok to abort your kids until their age ends in “een”, you know like thirteen, fourteen, etc....

Uh, don't you know that when they hit the teens is when you would most likely want a bit of that post birth abortion?

Under ancient patriarchal structures (like Islam today) the father could terminate disobedient children up until they became adults. Feminists, in the interest of equality, don't really want to abolish this practice. They just want to give women the same option - to abort in the case of risk to the life, health, or convenience of the mother.

Kathy Tran probably cannot even equate the value of her own, wanted child to the value of an unwanted child. To her, like most miseducated feminists, what the mother wants and feels in the moment is more important than any child's right to live. She probably sees herself as a very nice person, and doesn't understand what all the fuss is about.

In my opinion, the Marxist Left in Congress and elsewhere would have the Trump base in camps not unlike the world saw in WWII if they thought they could legally do so. At some point, people in this country will have to choose sides in what is coming. It won’t end well for the Left.

I think this crap is being driven mainly by 3 separate things. First, it's a convenience thing for idiots who don't want to take responsibility for their actions (or grow up). Second, it's misplaced adherence to discredited Malthusian theories. Third, it's a safe way for racist democrats to support the destruction of 'undesirables', like blacks, latinos and other minorities that they want to keep on the plantation.

All of these ultimately steeped in evil. I think they actually showed their hands prematurely by coming out publicly for unadorned infanticide. The number of folks who will support going that far on this issue is vanishingly small. We've been telling people for years that this is where they are heading with it, but people just don't see the slippery slope in front of their faces.

You are not kidding. She is only backtracking because she is getting keelhauled like Northam is.

Maybe the voters should elect someone who is actually capable of reading.
