Amazing.
Here in Minneapolis-St Paul, the air temp is -12 degrees with a windchill of -40 degrees.
And yes, it’s gonna get worse tonight...
I moved from Fargo to a banana belt-the coast of Maine. It was a balmy 5 degrees above zero this morning.
38 below wind chill here in Minneapolis right now.
I don’t see anyone froze to death on the street yet.. I’ll keep you updated.

Forget about wind chills. The coldest night I ever experienced had an ambient air temperature below -30. It’s amazing what happens to a car and a human body at that temperature.

Flag Island Mn (Canadian border) -22 air temp/-54 windchill
Edgerton Mn (SW Minnesota) -12 air temp/-40 windchill
Hayfield Mn (SE Minnesota) -9 air temp/-35 windchill
One of my security cameras won’t even turn on if it’s too cold, but will keep working if it’s already on. Also, the gear grease on the pan, tilt, and zoom cameras solidifies until operation is pretty cranky.
...and people in Florida here are complaining that it hit 51 degrees today....

When I still lived there a man, his son and two of his friends froze to death on 19th ave N. a half mile from the K-Mart on University drive. A little bit of snow, a whole lotta wind and severe cold and they got stranded. Found them a day later still in the car.
-29 is a pretty nice day up to the Blackfoot res in Montana. I been up there driving to Billings in a blizzard - guy on the radio said it was -70 in Lewiston.
We have no garage-something I swore I would never do. The one silver lining to it being so cold is there’s no ice on the windshield. You just brush off the powdery snow, no scraping as it’s not warm enough for ice.
It’s 44°F in Dallas right now. I’ll stay right here, thank you very much.

I saw it -30 one winter morning in Gunnison Colorado. It was cold.
If it zero degrees and it gets twice as cold how cold is it?

My office window overlooks part of Nicollet Mall. It’s so cold I’m not even seeing the usual circus of drunks, panhandlers and urban Amish out there today.
