Good move by the President. I hope it would be a significant down payment.

I would imagine that, rather than $5.7 billion for the remaining 9 months, he’d take $600 million for a 1-month extension. The democrats could argue they won because 9 months of that would only add up to 5.4 billion.

“How much is a down payment?”

I believe he said pro rata.

So one month out of a $5.7 billion year, would be $475 million. Plus the equivalent percentage of his other requests.

The guy is continuing to “negotiate” with himself. Talk about WEAK, its pathetic. Pretty soon he will be offering to pay the DEMON RATS to come to the negotiations.

Folks, it’s really time to stop thinking Border Wall and go with a new better plan. A plan that has been tried and tested. A plan that works. A plan that does not need a Border Wall or 25 Billion Bucks to build it. A Plan that will cost us NOTHING yet save Billions.

Self Deportation. Arizona did it. And a million illegals left the state.

Implement this on a national level and watch our problems head south.

Why is Trump continually removing every leverage he has? Seriously, I don’t get it, he’s constantly mitigating the pain of the shutdown for the Democrats like signing off on them getting backpay.

And here I thought Donald was the “master negotiator”.

He’s negotiating himself right out of any kind of real win here. That is, unless the rumor of national emergency declaration and $7B is actually true.

Sigh..

I would love to see how any of you POS trashing Trump would hold up under the same pressures, while being attacted at every angle, by almost everyone...even your “supporters!”

President Trump, do yourself a favor; DO NOT SEEK RE-ELECTION IN 2020! This ungrateful nation does NOT deserve you!

I like the shutdown. We now have a real time, prospective view of how the government functions at a 20-25% reduction. If Trump can more freely move money around to pay essential elements of government and cut out just some of the waste, he can prove to the public that the Federal government can be cut safely and permanently. This means that we could reduce deficit spending, and that at least slow the growth in spending on debt interest. A better bottom line makes US Treasuries more attractive, and lower interest rates are more likely. In addition, now that many of the “resistors” and “predators” are at home, Trump can get things done and many businesses are seeing regulatory relief from agencies and courts.

I think Trump likes the shutdown too, maybe even more than the wall.
