President Trump hosted a border security meeting at the White House Tuesday afternoon.
In an effort to make progress on the government shutdown, Trump invited Republican and Democrat lawmakers to attend with ideas. Not a single Democrat showed up. Their leaders, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, were also missing.
“As Senator Schumer and Speaker Pelosi refuse to negotiate, President Donald J. Trump and his team are working hard to find solutions to solve the humanitarian and national security crisis at the border and reopen the government. The President has a proposal on the table that includes additional technology at ports of entry, allows minors from Central America to seek asylum in their home country, and physical barriers between ports of entry made of steel instead of concrete," Press Secretary Sarah Sanders released in a statement. "Today, the President offered both Democrats and Republicans the chance to meet for lunch at the White House. Unfortunately, no Democrats will attend. The President looks forward to having a working lunch with House Republicans to solve the border crisis and reopen the government. It’s time for the Democrats to come to the table and make a deal.”

On Tuesday morning, President Trump went after Pelosi and Schumer on Twitter. He also warned of another caravan headed to the U.S. from Honduras.
Why is Nancy Pelosi getting paid when people who are working are not?
A big new Caravan is heading up to our Southern Border from Honduras. Tell Nancy and Chuck that a drone flying around will not stop them. Only a Wall will work. Only a Wall, or Steel Barrier, will keep our Country safe! Stop playing political games and end the Shutdown!
Polls are now showing that people are beginning to understand the Humanitarian Crisis and Crime at the Border. Numbers are going up fast, over 50%. Democrats will soon be known as the Party of Crime. Ridiculous that they don’t want Border Security!

Very sad but I guess not too surprising.
I believe President Trump is under estimating the attention span in the level of intelligence of those who watch TV. I think he actually is missing a big opportunity and should be tweeting about this hourly. He should also be holding a press briefing daily to talk about Pelosi still getting paid. To talk about boycotting the White House meeting. To talk about how 5.7 billion dollars is nothing compared to what we spend on other things and the government waste that exists. He should also have the angel moms at the White House. Again I think he’s missing an opportunity and should be pushing this even harder and showing the American people especially these stupid 50% who think CNN MSNBC PBS NPR NBC Etc a real news.

We will see how strong the hatred of POTUS Trump is and at what point do the GOPers cave.

Well, when you’re only polling the inhabitants of Berkley and Harlem, what do you expect your numbers to look like? As witnessed before, polls are useless.
I don’t see a motive in it for the Democrats, unless they’re getting some really big funding somewhere. They’re not doing it for votes.
They wee hoping the media could gin up enough fake news to gain sympathy for the starving workers who are all dying - but it hasn't worked one bit. Then we see Dems partying it up at beach parties why winter storms hit - not look'n good for Dems.
They think they really showed him.

The majority of people know that we have to secure the border with not only a barrier but beefing up ports of entry and using improved technology at any points that problems develop.
Illegal alien traffic, human smuggling, drug smuggling and asylum seekers in these caravans are out of control. A new caravan reported to be around 4,000 is reported to be leaving Honduras right now.
The Dems don’t have any plan to stop the invaders and won’t meet with President Trump to even discuss it, they’re like a deer caught in the headlights.
They’re hanging out there for all to see and they’re blowing it big time and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of idiots!
I hate to say this but I do NOT see anybody lifting a finger to do anything to put a stop to this ongoing Coup d’etat. Do you? Does anybody see something that I am missing?

I agree with your additional thoughts too.
What they’re thinking is that they just outsmarted him, payback for when he walked out of that meeting last week.
Little do they know, the public is behind him. The public wants the wall, realizes they aren’t being straight with them, and are getting angry over it.
Pelosi and Schumer are in for a rude awakening.
Perhaps not - but the real point is that it will take both sides to open it again and one side won’t even show up - ensuring it stays closed...
