On Sunday, Britain's Daily Star reported that Lady Gaga and Angelina Jolie two white actresses are competing for the role of Cleopatra, sparking outrage across social media. Social Justice Warriors (SJWs) demanded that the African queen should be played by a woman of color, even though the historical Cleopatra was Greek, not black.
"Stop whitewashing Cleopatra!!!" tweeted Kendra James, a writer and editor at Shondaland.com. "Film the story of literally any other queen on the vast African continent."

What does that mean, often, what %. The Mycenaean Greeks were the Greeks who set up much of what we know about ancient Greece. Doric Greeks were more of a group do to the Greek dialect they spoke. Ethnically, they were not different from other Greeks to the degree you suggest.

The peer reviewed article above using DNA analysis indicates a continuity in the DNA of modern Greeks vs. Greeks from the Classical era before Christ.

The Doric Greeks, who were more from the West North West also were part of the colonization of Sicily and Southern Italy. Peer reviewed academic studies indicate that Greek DNA contributes to 37% of the DNA of Sicily and that the populations of Sicily and Southern Italy are substantially the same. The reason I state that is because my ancestors are from Sicily, and the study below indicates that the 37% of Sicilian DNA, and by extension similar amount of the DNA in Southern Italy is from Greece.

If you look at the DNA structure of Italy as a whole for example, you will see the same Haplogroups, but with some variation from region to region. So if you look at Sicily vs. Latium (Rome) and even Liguria in NW Italy, the variation is not that much. So given the large amount of Greek DNA, one wonders where are all the Blond haired Blue Eyed Nordics.

The article linked below has some detailed analysis and once again links Sicily and Southern Italy to Greek as sharing the same DNA history

This article is another one that looks at ancient Greece DNA samples. Again, they cluster with Sicily and Southern Italy and it rejects the replacement hypothesis of all the Northern European Nordic-centrist and it also contradicts these militant afro-centrist who want to claim all the medieval societies stole from them.
So out of every 100 Greeks, could their have been maybe 10 blondes, which probably meant dirty blond or lighter brown hair, yes. Did they look like Swedish or Norwegians, heck no.
they were Sothern Europeans-(Mediterranean’s) Cranial and facial features European (i.e. Nose, facial shape, skull etc) but externally brunette to darker hair (European texture) and predominantly brown eyes. Skin pigmentation would be what we would say is “White” but it would be more between type 2-3. Fair outside of sun but likely to tan in the sun (maybe burn sometimes), but certainly not Type 1 fair skin found in the Northernmost parts of Europe.

They are tripping over themselves trying to tie black Africa to Western Civilization in some meaningful way. Blacktivists claim blacks built the pyramids, but the only ones I’ve seen in “black Africa” are tiny knockoffs of Egyptian pyramids.
And before the college profs tryed to push this crap, the NOI ( NATION OF ISLAM ), pushed this tripe on their followers, starting in 1930, in Detroit. But it was Elijah Muhammad, who came in as the head of this cult, in 1934, who REALLY hammered it home.
What I find shocking, is that some posters here have bought this a absurd rewritten version of history!
And Warren G. Harding. :^)
Oh yes, she is very good. Definitely A list, but she is more of an international star then a Hollywood star since she does a lot of foreign made movies too. She is French.
Here is an interview I found on youtube
LOL, I never pass up an opportunity to post an Eva Green pic.
They were not racist—they would see this as silly. Yes, some were white skinned—others were—Black abd brown. They were a mixed nation.
Just trying to boost self-esteem with nonsense...
History cannot be changed.......................but it can be managed...................
I looked her up and funnily enough, I’ve actually seen her in two very different movies, but the name didn’t register at all.
But that is NOT the point; Cleopatra ( yooo hooooo...the topic of this thread and movie in the article ! )was not only NOT a Negroid, she was NOT mixed race either; rather she was 100% Caucasoid and some IDIOT demanding that some actress portray her, who is either Negroid or mixed race, is not just patently ridiculous, but moronic!
You are in great need of learning about Ancient Egypt; you are claiming things about Egypt, at the time of the last Ptolemaic pharaohs that isn't exactly factual.
It was not really a "mixed race" nation in the way you appear to assume it was. I'd give you a history lesson, but you 1) won't believe/accept what I post 2) will learn more that will stick with you, IF you do your own research...research which MUST come from contemporary to that era sources! Julius Caesar was really quite a good writer and he, as well as many others did do a good job of putting stylus to wax, getting details down. Luckily for you, there are English translations of these works.
True and decades ago debunked CRAP! :-(
Publishing its findings in Nature Communications, the study concluded that preserved remains found in Abusir-el Meleq, Middle Egypt, were closest genetic relatives of Neolithic and Bronze Age populations from the Near East, Anatolia and Eastern Mediterranean Europeans.
Please note that Anatolis (Turkey) was mostly Greek and the Middle East mostly white 3,500 years ago.

Re the movie...okay, she'll do for Cleopatra; however, I can't think of ANY Brit nor American actor whose acting "chops" can pull off Julius, Mark, or Octavian/Augustus. Perhaps it's because I've seen truly FANTASTIC actors portray those men in the past. so am a bit "jaded". OTOH...there is NOT a single American actor who could fill any of those roles; not a one!
I'd say that Ian McShane could easily do a great Julius, but he's too old now; sadly.
Not surprising since in the last 2500 years there have only been a handful of men that had the stature of a Julius Caesar. Enjoyed the conservation.
As much as I really like Warren Williams, neither he nor Marlon Brando ( who was a LOUSY actor !)and please lets all forget Richard Burton's turn...the portrayal of Mark Anthony, in film and T.V. series appears to be a difficult role for even good to great actors to pull off.
I too enjoyed our discussion and thanks, again, for reminding me about that French actress!
