Are you a man? That is to say, are you a genetic male who also happens to identify as a "man," for some increasingly antiquated reason? If so, are you under the mistaken impression that you're not a rapist?
Our society has come a long way in shaming men for behaving in any way that anybody anywhere doesn't like, and reminding men that we're all complicit even if we don't behave that way. But it's not nearly enough. The mere fact of maleness is shameful and problematic. Men and boys everywhere need to be reminded that we're evil. We must learn to hate ourselves as much as everyone else hates us. The patriarchy must be castrated.
And who better to do it than a company that makes razors?
Alexandra Bruell, WSJ:
Gillette is embracing the #MeToo movement in a new digital ad campaign aimed at men, the latest message from an advertiser attempting to change societal norms...
This is an important conversation happening, and as a company that encourages men to be their best, we feel compelled to both address it and take action of our own, said Pankaj Bhalla, Gillette brand director for North America in an emailed statement. We are taking a realistic look at whats happening today, and aiming to inspire change by acknowledging that the old saying Boys Will Be Boys is not an excuse. We want to hold ourselves to a higher standard, and hope all the men we serve will come along on that journey to find our best together.
Let's see, you want to do an ad to "correct" the attitudes of men in a country with strongest laws in the world protecting equal rights for women & minorities, and you get an immigrant from a 3rd World country with TERRIBLE laws that don't protect the rights of women & minorities, to do so?
Dumb, dumb, DUMB!!!!
U so funny ;)
See post 62.
I do endeavor to provide sharp commentary.
I love mine.
They literally HATE their own customers!
Gillette SPITS IN THE FACE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THEN HAS THE UNMITIGATED GUAL TO EXPECT THEM TO CONTINUE BUYING THEIR OVERPRICED GARBAGE.
Try Dorco.com. Manufacturer of Dollar shave club Razors. They do direct sales. They are always running promos. Get on there email list for the discounts which are already inexpensive to start.
Make that Dorcousa.com. they make it all, disposable, cartridge, single edge. Ladies razors.... I like the Pace 4 razor myself.

These products are FAAAAR better than any cartridge system...and DE blades are only 20 cents each and destroys the “modern” cartridge
Rockwell makes amazing razors with adjustable heads for “mild” to “aggressive” shaves. https://getrockwell.com/collections/razors
Just add a quality blade via Amazon (Feather is THE sharpest blade in the world) and a good soap from Stirling (https://www.stirlingsoap.com/collections/shave-soap).
That dude has got an interesting CV.
College Communications profs will case study this advert self-inflicted wound for decades.
Now jump in the fire, American man!
I wonder what the racial makeup is of Gillette’s customers is. And who watches the Super Bowl?!?!
This Bhalla person is from India.
Pathetic. Well back to finding some cheap razors.
The sad thing for me is that I have tried a dozen different razors and Gillette fusion is hands down the best razor out there. I bought a dozen blades on Sunday. That was before this man-hating ad came out. Theyll probably last me a year. I called the company to express my dismay as I was both a customer and a stockholder.
Unless they repent of their idiocy those are the last Gillette blades I will buy. Ill probably hold onto the stock because I only own it for the dividends. I dont generally sell a stock after I buy it. This may affect sales of Gillette but it is a very small part of the P&G empire.
P&G is headquartered in my home town. My dad retired from P&G. Their stock was the basis of his and most of the area’s retirement portfolios. Through thick and thin, P&G has weathered good times and bad. People just don’t give up being clean.
That said, men do grow beards. I have a short one now, and the neckline only shaving it entails will make just one razor last about a year.
At the same time, P&G has too many products for my change in habit to affect them that much. They also have a long track record of divesting themselves of segments that don’t perform well. A lot of beards will make Gilette razor division squirm.
