Thousands of federal workers in the Fresno area could receive eviction notices and struggle to feed their families in the near-future as they miss their first paycheck this week due to the partial government shutdown, and their work stoppage could soon impact millions of non-government workers as tax season approaches.
About 125 employees gathered outside the Internal Revenue Services processing center in southeast Fresno on Thursday. Some held signs depicting crossed-out chess pawns or reading We want to work. We want to get paid. End the shutdown.
B. Rodriguez stood near the front of the group holding a bright pink sign which noted that 800,000 American citizens are facing economic hardships due to the shutdown, which began on Dec. 22.

If it were you and me, they wouldn’t care!
IRS workers can’t suffer enough for what they did to tea party groups at the behest of the Kenyanesian Usurper.
If they’re going to be getting eviction notices already, their financial problems started long before the shutdown.
I never get a refund anyway, so no worries.
Screw the IRS. Find another job.
IRS, hardships? Hells Bells, I hope they suffer!
exactly. F em. and someone explain to me again how tax returns could be “delayed’. You mean ‘refunds’, right?
I worked through many threatened furloughs and several actual ones. I never worked without pay. That is called slavery. The ones that are non essential are the ones that make out like a bandy as they get free extra days of vacation. Extra Christmas and New Years holiday days, they will get full pay.
“...IRS workers cant suffer enough for what they did to tea party groups at the behest of the Kenyanesian Usurper....”
Absolutely. They cannot suffer enough. And not a single one of em....not one was ever held accountable..not one. But IF we’re late with our taxes, well, everyone knows the story on that.
IF they were disbanded today, there would be no shed tears from this part of the world.
Trump should just push the 2018 filing deadline back six months from April 15th to October 15th. The date is set by statute, but Trump could sign an EO directing that it not be enforced by the Treasury until then. Discretionary enforcement, just like Obammy did with DOMA.
I am just hoping my audit will be delayed lol!
FULL PENSION, NO JAIL TIME
Worked state of california in YA institutions, essential. My bank twice sent me notice. We will despot funds equalling your direct deposit of you so chose. But we were paid June 20. Never had check go beyond Aug 10.
As IRS workers suffer during shutdown...
Cry me a river.
The BEST thing that could ever happen in all of this is, by God’s miracle, the unconstitutional 80% of the federal government STAYS SHUTDOWN.
God’s miracle, just like Trump’s election is God’s miracle.
Overnight economic boom and inflation (the ever-increasing hidden tax of big government) STOPPED in its tracks.
Freedom.
God’s miracle. Only he can make something like that happen because there is no force under Heaven that I know of that could EVER force the shutdown of the tyranny and unconstitutional 80% of the feds which means sending home packing hundreds of thousands of officials, bureaucratic heads, and government.
The days of restoration of our Free Constitutional Republic!
Dancing in the streets. Joy unspeakable and full of glory.
These are government employees who relish their roles in telling other people how to manage their lives, yet haven't prepared themselves to survive a missed paycheck.
Lets see...
Death/rape/your children sexually assaulted vs losing your home...
I think the damage from illegal immigration is worse. If these government workers like, they can continue to vote back in Leftists who don’t care about them, who would rather ignore their Constitutional requirement to protect the states from invasion than pass it and help keep government workers on the job.
Psychologically, withholding also makes the tax burden invisible except around April 15, thus helping government grow bigger.
But therefore ending it would diminish the power of politicians to buy votes. So it will never happen.
