Democrats Chuck Schumer & Nancy Pelosi will end up caving in and losing to POTUS, Donald J. Trump, and as such their political careers will be at least badly jaded, if not ended.
Both of them and the entire Democrat Caucus is receiving tremendous pressure & heat from thousands of furloughed Federal Government workers. With each passing day this pressure & heat will continue to expand into the general economy & population in many ways.

How many hours does it take to get the Pelosi/Schumer entourage from the Capital Building in the middle of a work day, to the White House and back to the Capital? And the President told them they were wasting his time after a few minutes. Sounds like Nan and Chuck lost most of a day, which is never a waste of time.
If Schumer and Pelosi were smart their answer to the President’s question would have been, “We don’t know. That’s what negotiations are for.” By being completely inflexible they may well be overplaying their hand.
What the Democrats will do comes down to a RISK/REWARD evaluation.
How much is at risk by not funding the wall?
How much reward is there if President Trump caves?
In the beginning there was little risk if, and that was a big if, the President caved early on since there would be a good chance his (the President’s) supporters, would turn against him.
However, once it becomes clear the President is not going to cave, the risk to the Democrats (especially Pelosi) grows each day.
The President loses only if he caves.
The Democrat lose if the President does not cave and the shutdown continues. Each day more pressure is going to be put on the Democrat leadership to give the President what he is asking for.
It should be noted that the 24/7 hate coverage from the left and the main stream media has inoculated President Trump from media pressure and it has muted their voice since the American people have suffered for almost three years of Trump hate from the media.

That is exactly what happened. The press just needs to make it appear that President Trump acts like a child, because that is the narrative the Democrats want the press to portray his actions as. As the dutiful lap dogs, the press complies with their tails (tongues) wagging in unison, the uniformed become the misinformed. Perhaps the FCC should be the ones who determine what is fake news and pull the licenses of those participating in the dissemination of that fake news, and put them out of business. When the courts complain, ignore them. When they try to broadcast jail them and send them to GITMO.
Not being picky, and DJT is surely a better negotiator than I, but I would have ended the meeting by saying, “Bye-Bye, you may go.”. Rather than leaving the room, have them escorted out as you go back to work. Just a territorial kind of thing.
Remember, it was the Democrats who said before the meeting that all Trump does is lie. This was staged.
