Its official: A Woodstock 50th anniversary concert is coming to the original site of the 1969 music festival in Upstate New York next year.
The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts confirmed Thursday that it will host a three-day event on August 16-18, 2019, titled Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival. The pan-generational music, culture, and community event will celebrate the golden anniversary of the original Woodstock concert with a series of concerts, TED-style talks, and a We Are Golden history exhibit at the Museum at Bethel Woods.
"Fifty years ago, people gathered peacefully on our site inspired to change the world through music. As the stewards of this historic site, we remain committed to preserving this rich history and spirit and to educating and inspiring new generations to contribute positively to the world through music, culture and community, Bethel Woods CEO Darlene Fedun said in a statement.

I lived not far from Woodstock. The news barely touched on the stories of the filth, attacks and injuries there. Our neighbor was a State Trooper at the site. He said it was not a place to be for all that he saw that was not reported.
Peace and love was the 60’s. Well except for the riots in LA, Detroit and such. I was in Detroit.
You’re right about the mood today. Its all liberal crazy hate. Snowflakes are the destroy America generation. Their leader is the 0panzy.
Just look at Berkeley today. No peace and love now. Just hate.
It’s either the leftist way or the highway. No chance for a respectful exchange of ideas.
No, that was Altamont with the Stones.
I'm not young, but not an "old fart" just yet, but a many would go for the bands. I'm a music person - some of those band are good.
I guarantee 95% of those who went to the first one went because they wanted to see one or more of the bands in the lineup. The hippie-brown-acid festival became a thing once the event started.
Way too many romantics think it was a such a Happy Time, the whole thing was fiasco ion many respects and not very well planned. By contrast the Atlanta Pop series was much better planned and the Atlanta Pop Festival in 1970 was actually bigger than WoodStock.
Few showers or baths too.
What about Country Joe and the Fish??????????????
When they had it in Rome, NY back in 1999, I went on vacation, and came back after it was over. Don’t know how it affected the area at the time, don’t care.
They didn't really "murder" him. The dude pulled out a huge barrel gun and looked ready to use it and the HA took him out.
It didn't end well for the Angel who stabbed him either.
Will they have someone play the National Anthem like the first one?
Joni Mitchell wrote the iconic “Woodstock” although she never attended.
Her original version with only her on electric piano is quite haunting...and far superior to the electrified CSNY version.
I think that's the one my youngest son went to. He was 23 at the time...went with his friends. All I can remember is that I had to clean the mud from his sneakers in the sink. They were embedded with it.
If the federal government is still shut down by then, will the interstate highways be able to handle the traffic?
was that the concert where they hired the hells angels for their security and a hells angel dude murdered a man infront of the crowd?

Just as well schedule another ‘Goose Lake’ at the same time.
The Deocrat party is in a war to decide. The Ameritrash 60’s types are up against the new super left.
Nancy Pelosi is likely to die, literally, in the coming war.
However.......
Age and treachery
overcome
Youth and skill
The left will not give this up, a weekend of peace, lice, pot and fornicating. That’s all the left is good for anyway. They don’t do anything useful with their lives.
Sad irony, (in a way) that Hendrix was the highest paid performer and ended up doing the anthem for what turned out to be mostly stragglers shuffling through the garbage.
