Two top Republican chairmen stressed Friday that the final report from special counsel Robert Mueller "must be trusted by Americans."
In closing out their joint committee investigation into decisions made by the Justice Department, Oversight Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., and Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., took a shot at their Democratic counterparts for playing up concerns that their probe was a campaign to undermine Mueller.
"Contrary to Democrat and media claims, there has been no effort to discredit the work of the Special Counsel," Gowdy and Goodlatte wrote in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, and the DOJ inspector general. "Quite the opposite, whatever product is produced by the Special Counsel must be trusted by Americans and that requires asking tough but fair questions about investigative techniques both employed and not employed.”
The two retiring Republicans said their committees "have assiduously avoided interfering with any ongoing criminal, counter-intelligence, administrative, or judicial reviews of conduct engaged in 2016 or 2017."
The joint endeavor began in October 2017, looking into decisions made by the DOJ related to FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's email server, inquiry into Russian interference and possible collusion by the Trump campaign, and alleged surveillance abuse and bias by federal agents.

He intimidated Flynn early, and made an immunity agreement with him to get him to roll over on his friends. Later, he reneged on said agreement with Flynn, said he wasn't cooperating, and right now is in the process of bankrupting him and destroying his life.
Does anyone remember how Mueller got picked in the first place? He was touted by media and pundits as non-partisan and fair-minded. A stand-up straight-shooter, they said. There would be no leaks in a Mueller investigation, they said.
So now we're hearing about cellphone records in Prague and naked selfies in the evidence room. Anyone doubt where this cr*p is coming from? Is that how straight shooters operate?

I wouldn’t trust Mueller with my dead cat! He’s corrupt, unethical, and a criminal re the Bulger case.

Meanwhile the left has wrapped him in the American flag, touting him as a Marine Corps veteran hero from Vietnam who having been exposed to withering enemy fire at the age of 20, and having survived, and as former head of the FBI, will blink at nothing (not even Trump, whom they characterize as a draft-dodger) and will “get the job done”. They and the media truly believe he is an untarnished icon of truth and justice and the American way. Hard for me to trust a 2 year investigation which targets Corsi and is quiet about anything Hillary.

Yes Mueller has a long history of being trustworthy, just look at his time in Boston and the Anthrax case
