Majority in poll want Trump impeached or censured
The Hill ^ | 12-28-2018 | Max Greenwood

Nearly 60 percent of U.S. voters surveyed say President Trump should be either impeached and removed from office or formally censured, according to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill.

The poll shows that a majority of voters polled think some kind of action should be taken against Trump, though they are divided on how far lawmakers should go as Democrats prepare to take over the House majority.

Asked whether Trump should be impeached and removed from office for his actions, censured by Congress or whether Congress should take no action, 39 percent of respondents said Trump should be impeached and removed from office.

“Transparently biased poll to “start the drumbeat” to impeach.”

This “Drumbeat to Impeach” was probably scheduled over a year ago, when they started thinking that Dems could take the House.

Fake News Astroturf BS.

A question and a request for those in favor of [fill in the blank.]

1) For what crimes?

2) Name the crimes. Please be specific.

Unless the poll shows the demographics and self identified political party, as far as I’m concerned the poll is not valid.

The only poll that matters to me is the Republican Senators, when they try to remove Trump from office.

And good luck finding 20 Republican Senators to remove Trump. They may not like him, but they KNOW FULL WELL that the Republican base will bolt from them (thereby killing their re-elections) if they vote to remove, and the base will bolt from the ENTIRE PARTY if the vote were successful.

Self preservation will win, as it did in the summer of 2016 when Paul Ryan was trying to replace him on the ticket, despite Trump winning the primaries. Ryan was told, IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS, that he would NEVER get Republican votes if he did that stunt. And, as stupid and demented as Ryan is, he understood that he could not replace Trump, without leading the party to a bloodbath in November.

So, a few Republicans may vote to remove anyway, but not more than 5 unless there is legitimate reason, and maybe only one or two.

What's the proof that the Russians hacked the DNC? What is the physical evidence (that has not been destroyed)? Who are the witnesses (who have not been granted immunity)? What's the chain of custody (of a improper investigation)?

I know this is the minority opinion here, but I don't believe Trump will face impeachment. There is so much wrong with Mueller's investigation, namely everything from beginning to end, that the Democrats risk too much if they try.

48% of voters voted for Hillary. 39% want Trump removed from office. So about 80% of Democrats have not reconciled themselves to their defeat in 2016 and are looking for some way to undo the defeat.

Democracy dies when Democrats decide they shouldn’t have to abide by the results of any election they lose.

Our political parties are there to help people get elected to public office.

The Democrat Party isn’t our government.

The governance of this nation is not to be viewed like a crosstown high school rivalry.

The President, The Congress, The Supreme Court......they exist to serve Americans.

If these Democrats can’t put their US citizenship ahead of the Democrat Party, then they don’t belong in any government job.

This isn’t The United States Of Democrat Party.

Notice the constant drum beat from the MSM for impeachment.

The MSM is the DNC.

Be careful what you wish for guys. Events could spiral out of control, and democrats will be lucky to live through it.

Pardon, but why is this idiocy always posted?

State voters vote for their US Senators, as dumb as
their choices can be. I think that’s lots
betterer than a corruptocrat selecting a crony.

We need polling questions like this?
Should Trump declare Martial law?
How long should the Clinton’s serve in prison?
Should a special prosecutor be assigned to investigate Mueller?

Where is the balance?

What relivance does a poll like this one have. For that matter who believes polls anymore. Nobody I know even answers their phones unless it is a number they have knowledge of. Fake news.

90% negative media coverage for 3 years running.

They’ve been told what to think.

In other words, about half the country think Trump should be impeached, and about half of the country thinks he shouldn't.

Those numbers have been pretty constant and right now it looks like the "do not impeach" side may be a tiny bit ahead.

Introduce a third alternative - censure - and you can get the number thinking Congress should take action against him (impeachment or censure) to rise over 50% (about 40% "impeach," 40% "do not impeach" and 10-20% "censure," plus undecideds).

But the "impeach" and the "do not impeach" camps are quite solid and convinced about what they want.

The "censure" camp is wishy washy and may only have given that answer because it was offered to them and they didn't like the other choices.

Even with all that, only 39% of voters want Trump removed from office?

People might like to see him be censured but it hardly amounts to a desire to remove him from office.

Good luck with it.
