Much is made about observed differences between sexes and among races. The nations academic and legal elite try to sell us on the notion that men and women and people of all races should be proportionally represented in socio-economic characteristics. They make statements such as Though African Americans and Hispanics make up approximately 32 percent of the U.S. population, they (constituted) 56 percent of all incarcerated people in 2015 and 20 percent of Congress is women. Only 5 percent of CEOs are.
These differences are frequently referred to as disparities. Legal professionals, judges, politicians, academics and others often operate under the assumption that we are all equal. Therefore, inequalities and disparities are seen as probative of injustice. Thus, government must intervene, find the cause and engineer a policy or law to eliminate the injustice. Such a vision borders on lunacy. Theres no evidence anywhere or at any time in human history that shows that but for some kind of social injustice people would be proportionally represented across a range of socio-economic attributes by race and sex.
Indeed, if there is a dominant feature of mankind, its that we differ significantly over a host of socio-economic characteristics by race, sex, ethnicity and nationality. The differences have little or nothing to do with any sort of social injustice or unfair treatment. Lets examine some racial, ethnic and sex disparities with an eye toward identifying the injustice involved. We might also ponder what kind of policy recommendation is necessary to correct the disparity.

20 percent of Congress is women. Only 5 percent of CEOs are....
And all of them can blow me.
STFU and make your life what you want it to be without pointing fingers at shadows and boogie men.
And white men.
Don’t let facts and figures get in the way of a good ‘social justice warrior’ fable.
Dr Williams is a national treasure.
social disparity on the bases of the color of your skin, gender and sexual orientation, social engineering by fools supported encouraged and promoted by the fake media, academia and their products, politicians with the help of suck a## corporations, Hollywood and paid activist hordes
Paging Thomas Sewell...
Isn’t it odd how they push the importance of diversity (nonsense), yet insist on equal outcomes?
By that logic, every election should end in a tie.
The greatest disparities are among entertainers of all sorts. The pay for the highest among them is exhorbitant. The salaries of all sports players should be immediately made equitable. Similarly for TV, club, and cinema entertainers. Once we have that horrid disparity under control we can begin looking at the inequities between street beggars and corporate attorneys.
All of this crap is based upon the assumption that brains and talent are equally distributed across the masses. That’s simply wrong, and the idea falls from there. Equality of the sexes? Really? That’s what you want? Then you need to throw several hundred thousand women in jail, remove about 90% in the healthcare field, and the same in education. Be careful what you wish for because, as a general rule, people don’t think it through carefully enough.
“Though African Americans and Hispanics make up approximately 32 percent of the U.S. population, they (constituted) 56 percent of all incarcerated people in 2015
So like Obama’s policy that schools had to punish as many white students as minority students no matter whether bad behavior was involved or not, we must jail as many white people as minorities whether a crime was committed or not?
I see the obvious disparity among MSM folks. With some making in the millions, others are making only 5 or 6 figures. This is horrible. They should all be making the same salaries. Correct the disparity there to show us they are serious! And, CNN should lead the way.
Thank you.
I was listening to a Southern California radio show about 15 years ago.
I think it was the "John and Ken" show.
They had a guest that called in, a local principle or assistant principle of a high school.
He said: "We have perfect diversity at our school. We all look different, but we all think alike."

You are most welcome.
Chilling.
The disconnect from reality was bizarre. The Orwellian doublethink stunning.
Minorities are often sociopathic and women arent often leaders, who knew?
Well, studies indicate........LOL! Sign me up to do a study.
I’ve given some thought to the “diversity is good” spin.
If you ran the Manhattan project, you’d want diversity of technical disciplines, like engineers and physicists.
But you wouldn’t want diversity of all academic fields. English teachers wouldn’t be much help.
You wouldn’t seek diversity of skin color, culture, religion, or age - those attributes would be irrelevant.
You would want to avoid diversity of IQ. Participants with low IQs would be a terrible distraction. You’d want the best and the brightest, which is, of course, the team we built to succeed.
The statement “diversity is good” is meaningless outside of context. It’s gibberish.
But progressives repeat it like a mantra. It’s frightening.
And in your example, one of our professional educators negates the most important diversity in upper education; diversity of thought.
