The disconnect from reality was bizarre. The Orwellian doublethink stunning.
I’ve given some thought to the “diversity is good” spin.
If you ran the Manhattan project, you’d want diversity of technical disciplines, like engineers and physicists.
But you wouldn’t want diversity of all academic fields. English teachers wouldn’t be much help.
You wouldn’t seek diversity of skin color, culture, religion, or age - those attributes would be irrelevant.
You would want to avoid diversity of IQ. Participants with low IQs would be a terrible distraction. You’d want the best and the brightest, which is, of course, the team we built to succeed.
The statement “diversity is good” is meaningless outside of context. It’s gibberish.
But progressives repeat it like a mantra. It’s frightening.
And in your example, one of our professional educators negates the most important diversity in upper education; diversity of thought.
