EMMANUEL Macron's government faces a vote of no confidence in parliament on Thursday amid nationwide anger at the French president which has seen violent riots across the country. Mr Macron's leadership is hanging by a thread after the Yellow Vest protests posed the most formidable challenge yet to his presidency. Leftist MEPs said Thursday's vote is the result of 18 months of fiscal injustice and called on the French president to "radically change direction". The Paris protests which erupted on November 17, were focused on denouncing a squeeze on household spending brought about by Mr Macron's taxes on diesel, which he said were necessary to combat climate change and protect the environment.

She never said that. It was a fabrication by the French Left, intended to stir up revolutionary hatred. The dishonesty of the Left is part of their tradition.

States can secede. Learn your constitution.

And Presidents can object? Learn your history.

No-confidence vote fizzles, only gets 70 lawmakers, far short of the 289 needed.

Italy Did? That’s surprising.

The agreement failed to make it through their Parliament...same thing is true in Switzerland, Slovenia, and Estonia. An effective NO, if not an explicit one.

Excellent. I’m glad to see Italy waking up, since I have family there.

Switzerland has always been smart about self-preservation.

Setting aside the constitutionality, dividing the United States would be a horrible idea. The two (or more) smaller nations would instantly have less clout in negotiating trade or security agreements with other countries. The divide in regional differences would accelerate. Two or three nations might become four or five. The political, demographic, and cultural hurdles to further leftists dogma would be reduced. Insanity!
