God rest the soul of George H.W. Bush. But God forbid that President Trump should receive credit for according H.W. all possible honors and conducting himself with grace during the funeral service.
That latter, ungracious, thought was on John Avlon's mind this morning. The CNN commentator, on New Day, reacted to a statement by former Bush 43 aide Scott Jennings, praising President Trump's handling of the passing of H.W.
Sneered Avlon:
"I don't think you want to give out too many medals for not screwing up a presidential funeral. The President was on best behavior this week, but that's a fairly low bar."

President Trump was given due respect for the office by primarily (so it seems) GWB and Laura. Thus, President Trump and Melania were in charge of an appropriate and dignified mourning period and funeral, with complete military honors. Has it ever been done better and with more decorum? (except for the trailer-trash tendencies of the Obamas and the Clintons. They were engaged in casual conversation while everyone else was in silent contemplation before the funereal service began)
PS: Apologies to residents of trailers. I was using the term as a cliché with meaning.
I’d give Trump a Nobel Prize.
I certainly did see it. It was vile and blatant. He was reeling off the type of people who patronized Orgy Island...mentioning "famous politicians", "lawyers", etc....adding at the end (just by chance, I'm sure, yah)...."New York real estate men"......
I agree 100% with your post, GOPJ, that "it was the most disgusting and obvious example of press hatred I've ever seen".
Even Alan Dershowitz's name was deliberately thrown into the mix in connection with the scandal.
Leni/MinuteGal
Never heard of her.
Although it’s been said many times, many ways.....FU, to you.
Dershowitz is a democrat ...
I don't know if Dershowitz's connected to Epstein - but I do know he was an active democrat for many years... and supported the liberal elites... so anything is possible.
I trust his legal judgement... not so sure about his 'liberal values' in the past. I do know that compared to the clintons - if dirty means the Clintons are covered with mud and sh*t, and pus is dripping out of their every pore - that Dershowitz by comparison might have a little dirt under his fingernails.
The last perfect person was able to walk on water... it's a matter of degree...
My observations as someone whos trusting The Plan (Q) watching the coverage of the Bush state funeral.
1) The hypocrisy of the MSM going from 24/7 Bush bashing while he was in offfice to complete adoration no that hes dead.
2) POTUS/FLOTUS and all the exs crammed together in the same pew HAD to be THE most difficult duration for all of them. The countenances on their faces spoke volumes.
3) With the only exception for Trump, upon entering a voting booth to cast your vote having been deduced to casting said vote for he lesser of two evils. The lesser of two evils is still evil and refuse to be made to feel heartless by not joining in mourning and becoming a hypocrite Ike the MSM.
You can be sure had he personally ordered his hotel to refuse them, they'd be blaming him for racism, not corruption.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't
CNN talking head is imlying Trump messes up everything so much. That’s the fake news.
implying
That's how it works when you're a Republican...
