Former first lady Michelle Obama says she took a page out of Laura Bush’s playbook and reached out to Melania Trump to offer advice on the years ahead — and the current FLOTUS ghosted her.
“Has (Trump) reached out?” asked ABC anchor Robin Roberts during a sit-down with Obama on Sunday.
“No,” said Obama. “No, she hasn’t.”
Trump’s communications director, Stephanie Grisham, confirmed the lack of correspondence in a statement to CNN on Monday.
“Mrs. Trump is a strong and independent woman who has been navigating her role as First Lady in her own way,” the statement said. “When she needs advice on any issue, she seeks it from her professional team within the White House.”
Obama — who was on ABC promoting her new memoir, “Becoming” — said she had gotten the idea to reach out to Trump from Bush, who had given her the same offer for help when she became first lady.
“I’m a phone call away,” Obama recalled her saying.

And ... in other words, Laura Bush has the class that she lacked, by NOT trashing Michelle in the media over her not taking her up on that offer.

Michelle is suffering from what many former and failed political figures suffer from: irrelevancy.
Except for a few loyalist sycophants who still drool over them, they have a difficult time adjusting to the great void that occurs once they are no longer the center of attention.
The world moves on. They don’t quite know how to. So, they try to garner attention with media puff pieces — articles and TV appearances. Yet, they still remain irrelevant.
Oh Mooch... Mrs. Trump has been running bigger houses and managing larger parties than you can ever imagine for much longer than your 15 minutes of fame. And she has done it all with probably half the staff that you require and looking fabulous the whole time.
