In a post on his website, Young said he hoped the calamitous fires would urged people to take action on the impact of climate change.
Firefighters have never seen anything like this in their lives. I have heard that said countless times in the past two days, and I have lost my home before to a California fire, now another, he wrote. Hopefully we can come together as a people to take climate change on. We have the tools and could do it if we tried. There is no downside.

These fires are natural. How dare you try to put them out.
Dear Neil,
Your calamitous fiery on-stage political left-wing speeches urged me to take action with regard to my habitual purchasing of expensive tickets to you and your asshat friends’ concerts. Notice you’re not filling the big venues anymore.
Good luck with that.
By the way, now that the money’s drying up, maybe it’s time to move back to “superior” Canada?
Oh yeah - you don’t want the tax burden.
Typical limousine liberal hypocrite with your private jets and your speeches about conservation.
Well, it’s better to burn out than fade away.
Sincerely,
Golux
These people are all MORONS any way.
No, but that would be great in many ways.

How long before these CA fire zones start being treated like flood zones? So all of us pay to subsidize their insurance.
Neil will pack it in and buy a pick up.
Take it down to LA.
I have never seen a more fitting illustration of the phrase, “There goes the neighborhood”.
Yeah, that too. :)
“The reconstructed houses around him would have to conform to newer building codes, making his house less desirable on the market and possibly subject to increased insurance costs.”
From the article is appears the Bui house became the poster child for new building codes.
I’m pretty sure I saw something today that moonbeam is going to “let” pg&e tack something on to the electric bills of their customers to help defray the costs. WTH?
Hey, Hey, Bye Bye.
“In a post on his website, Young said he hoped the calamitous fires would urged people to take action on the impact of climate change.”
Too bad Young didn’t get caught in the fire. I don’t know about the other two.
Never let a good crisis go to waste.
Saw a picture of Butler’s place on BBC and it looks like he had trees growing right up against the walls of his home
I hope Neil Young will remember..
I believe you are correct....
Thanks for the info, that is good to know. A fire got uncomfortably close to us in North San Diego County many years ago ... even that was a frightening experience. Our whole neighborhood would have gone up in flames quickly.
There is a product on the market that will repel fire once employed and was discussed during the fires of 10 years ago
Can’t recall the name of it but, an interesting feature of the product was that is dangerously slippery.
Some people have no common sense.
