In a post on his website, Young said he hoped the calamitous fires would urged people to take action on the impact of climate change.
Firefighters have never seen anything like this in their lives. I have heard that said countless times in the past two days, and I have lost my home before to a California fire, now another, he wrote. Hopefully we can come together as a people to take climate change on. We have the tools and could do it if we tried. There is no downside.

Southern man don’t need him around anyhow................
Neil Young: Old Asshat who gave up searching for a heart of gold and settled for a head of mush.
[[I have heard that said countless times in the past two days,]]
Well there ya have it folks, Neil ‘heard it countless times’ over 2 days, by firefighters no less, therefore ‘man-caused’ climate change is real
Holy Mackerel these folks are shallow thinking low info people
WOW that President Trump sure does have some amazing power, he can literally set houses on fire from THOUSANDS of miles away. Yeah, and Trump is supposed to feel sympathy for these people..They are rich, they can put their pennies together and rebuild
We could spend every dollar ever coined without making any discernible difference. Sorry you lost your digs but don't take it out on the rest of us.
There were no fires in California before now.
I feel mockery for their homeowner insurance companies.
The state has laughable fire codes, and has been in the process of trying to foist those stupid policies on the nation as a whole.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Not crying a tear for these morons.
Sort of like before the 2016 elections there were no Trumpicanes, Trumphoons or Trumpnadoes?
“In a post on his website, Young said he hoped the calamitous fires would urged people to take action on the impact of climate change.”
Too bad Young didn’t get caught in the fire. I don’t know about the other two.
How and why it survived can be found in this article:

I remember that. Guess other folks just didn’t want to spend that extra money.
Sorry, but the wildfires been around for a while now...It is not caused by Global Warming or Climate Change...Liberals show us proof that we are causing Global Warming...and I’ll have ConservaTeen reject it...
My mother always said “If you can’t say something nice.....”
Neil go back to Canada you stupid buffoon.
Try cut some fire breaks around your towns, the trees are all dead and et up by insects anyway because you Eco-Idiots wont spray them.
I hate to say this, but in a real way you are all getting what you deserve.
It turns out that what Bui did to his Laguna Beach house didn’t cost much.
He made sure that the roof vents wouldn’t allow embers into the attic space- this is a major way that houses catch fire, even when they have cement roof tile.
He built with minimal or no eaves- superheated air will collect under roof overhangs and ignite the structure there.
Any and all exposed wood was covered with a very thick coating of stucco- maybe an inch thick.
I don’t know if he did anything with shutters, but ‘fire shutters’ prevent radiant heat from igniting the inside of the house when the windows remain intact. Fire shutters would be an added expense to a house. The ember proof roof vents, minimal eaves, and stucco coating wood surfaces doesn’t add much at all.
Good. Move to Canada. Better, buy a villa on top of Vesuvius or Etna.
Never had a fire in Kali before? Oh, Wait!
Two Years Before the Mast is a memoir by the American author Richard Henry Dana Jr., published in 1840.
California...
The only thing which diminishes its beauty is, that the hills have no large trees upon them, they having been all burnt by a great fire which swept them off about a dozen years before, and they had not yet grown up again.
The fire was described to me by an inhabitant, as having been a very terrible and magnificent sight. The air of the whole valley was so heated that the people were obliged to leave the town and take up their quarters for several days upon the beach.
Can we blame this 1838 fire on TRUMP?
Interesting read, thanks for the link. My Aunt lives in Laguna Beach.
