The mic was not his property. It is White House property. The woman is the agent of the owner of the mic.
If you forcibly prevent someone from retrieving his property from you, you have committed a crime.
He was an a-hole for not giving away the mic, but non-joking talk about how he did a wrestling move on the girl is silly. I understand the jokes, but I don’t understand the people who claim it seriously.

In any case, he was commandeering the President, the girl and the rights of the press to ask their own questions. He did not own that event and he was trying to steal it from others. It is good that he was banned. There is no place for such insurgency behavior through our press. In my view, he touched the girl in a way designed to restrain and keep her from doing her job and that is abuse.
He pulls the mic back - and up - toward his chest AWAY from her, first. That causes his other hand to hit hers... A bully.
That’s the WH’s mic, not his. Also he’s rather sexist - he reacts to her like she isn’t there and has no clear authority as POTUS’s Aid.... Pig.

Her arms makes contact with his hand but his hand was on a downward motion as her arm was moving upward. Accidental? maybe
2nd Contact:
THEN he purposely uses his hand to PUSH her arm down so that she can’t take the mic. Accidental? NO
Regardless, it all boils down to one thing. He doesn’t have the maturity to even be in the WH press pool.

If CNN had any sense at all, they would make a scene of firing this jerk, explaining how a professional news agency cannot tolerate this type of boorish behavior.

Strange for you to say. Someone led us to twitter site and the dems were saying the same thing you said about the video.
I’m not contracticting myself. I do not think her job description entails (like an SS agent’s might) “Take them DOWN if they don’t do what you ask.” So while she was right to forcefully go for the mike at first, if the reporter didn’t give in, she probably didn’t know what she should do, and the SS is probably supposed to step in if bodily force is called for.
And politically if the SS take down a CNN reporter, no one will talk of anything else for 23 weeks. The President has a Stasi, etc.
Definitely enough force to shift her body toward his. Look closely. CNN trying to say the WH doctored the video to make the “chop” look faster. Doesn’t matter about the speed. The fact is he made contact with her and pushed his arm down on hers with enough force to shift her body toward his.
