I believe that was the Uniparty/deep state's plans- delay, dissemble, deflect. In 2016 Trump was new, and had no immediate allies within the bureaucracy, especially the DOJ, which is the political nerve center of Fed.gov. I still believe Trump was forced to settle for Sessions. RINOs in Senate would not have allowed anyone else.
Robert Swan Mueller III is now completely WITHOUT any overseer - he is free to range as widely as he wants.
Time is short, the bridge is out and the water rises....

Sessions Forced Out? How about Sessions woke and realized he was still AG, promptly resigned in disgrace.

No he isn’t! Whitaker the new acting AG calls the shots not Rosenstein. Since Sessions recused himself then it fell on Rod but now it goes back to the acting AG as being overseer

Yes, I was stating that with Sessions we wasted two years. We agree.
Everybody wants their own pet celebrity politician or news pundit. We need someone we’ve never heard of. Some young energetic quietly conservative buck who kept his nose in the the law books, knows them inside and out, and wants some mounted commie/liberal heads on his office wall.
Chris Christie or Rudy Giuliani would be my choice, Gowdy is too familiar with to many swamp critters. Chris or Rudy, as outsiders, would have no qualms about mass firings.

Agreed. While I am sure Sessions is a good man, its clear that his appointment was not the best decision, and keeping him on after his recusal was further folly. Disappointing.
