Sessions was poised to resign. I am thinking now that if he stays or wants to stay that means he is a black hat. Will stick around to obstruct Trump. Wouldn’t it be interesting if some of those sealed indictments were for Dem candidates that just won.

The HOR needs to vote to vacate the speaker immediately! Today!

Why have they let him stay all this time, because I really want to know.

Yes. Releasing the full FISA info is Step #1.

Trump has a trip to G-20. They (Horowitz?) could release it then.

We at FR will recommend further investigations, firings, legal actions, and political moves from that point.

2. Pass a bill clarifying that birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment does not apply to non-resident foreigners or illegals

How many House Republicans do you think would vote for such a bill?

And, for extra credit, why do you think the House Republicans got thumped so soundly yesterday?

This isn't 1789 (Article I, section 7-9 has been "Necessary and Proper Claused" to death) anymore and we have not been running on an “official budget” in around 8 years or so. That means a compromise between 3 bodies of government. Where did Obama get his funding from in the years 2011-2016? This was through the appropriations process which...

Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 and the Gramm–Rudman–Hollings Acts of 1985 and 1987 curtailed a lot of the House's power concerning appropriations (Which we are currently operating on).

There are 12 subcommittees made up of members of the House and Senate "that control the purse strings" at this time. The Senate subcommittees have the advantage because they operate on the State level.

Ryan, McConnell, and Trump could not agree on a budget, so we are still in this continuing resolution/omnibus phase that the Senate gets to cut up and/or parcel out.

1.) Yes, release all of the pertinent documents.

2.) Get behind repeal of the biggest con in American history, the 17th Amendment. Article V.

We shouldn’t act like this Ryan-Rino led House was a benefit to Trump. He’ll do far better running against Pelosi than running with Ryan. Sit back and watch the clown show the Ds in the House are about to put on. It will guarantee a 2020 win for DJT!

And, he will have Senate without Flake and McCain and with Linda out of the closet with a new set of duds.

Watch for selfies of “sensitized” U.S. troops hugging the newly-arrived migrant families as they are processed for entry to the U.S.

Are you trying to say that our Troops are going to take selfies while on active duty to protect the border?

The party is all Trump’s now. Most of the Rs who lost rejected Trump and paid for it. We’re better off with them gone.

He may be able to fire Sessions and get someone with balls in there. Certainly, he will be able to confirm his pick for RBG replacement.

You actually believe only the House can investigate? The JD, IOW the JUSTICE DEPT, has no authority to do what you believe the House can do?

Really?

Yep. That was a rare Trump misstep IMHO. Troops firing at the caravan and this didn't need to be said. IT gave the enemy talking points and got their base re-motivated to GOTV.

Elections are won and lost by GOTV. They were really demoralized during the last two weeks...and you can't give them a reason during the homestretch to GOTV.

Replace Sessions and Rosenstein. Then direct new AG to investigate any complaints about members of Congress. Start with the obvious conflict of interest members like Pelosi and Maxine.

Trump needs to act as if 2019 is the only thing that matters.

Trump needs to build up a defense against the Democrats going after him via impeachment, leaking his taxes, and using Mueller to dirty him up for 2020.

To do this, he should do the following:

  1. As soon as the 115th Congress adjourns sine die, Trump should fire Sessions (or accept his resignation), and fire Rosenstein.
  2. Trump should recess appoint a bulldog, a fighter, a person who doesn't want a Beltway career, and who is willing to make the tough calls the way that Sessions wouldn't. Somebody outspoken, like Jeanine Pirro who appeared on stage with Trump, might be a good choice. This appointment would expire at the end of 2019, so would be immune to Senate interference for the duration.
  3. Trump should nominate a replacement for Rosenstein through the normal Senate process. Let the Senate Republican Judiciary Committee members like Lindsey Graham have a platform to counter House Democrats investigating Trump, like Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, and Jerry Nadler.
  4. The new Attorney General should immediately take control of the Mueller investigation, demanding an immediate briefing by Mueller, and potentially shutting down the investigation outright. Let the 55 Republicans in the Senate deal with Democrat howls of obstruction, since 2019 is going to be about all-out war with the Democrats. It's best in the short term to take this weapon off the table now.
  5. The new Attorney General can also take a harder line on illegal immigration actions to counter Democrat obstruction of border security.
  6. In 2020 when the recess appointment expires, Trump can formally nominate a permanent Attorney General and give Republicans another Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing to campaign from going into the 2020 election. Set the Democrats up for a repeat of their 2018 performance and show voters again what their choices are.

Thank god we rid ourselves of our infestation of houserinos. I had predicted in 2016 that if Trump one the Presidency the Republicans would lose Congress [based on the same logic of throwing the bastards out]. Well, I was off by two years and we have managed to rid ourselves of the most pestilential RINOs in the Senate without losing the majority there. In fact we have defeated some rabid socialists on the other side.

The House does not control spending. Spending bills originate in the House, but the Senate can amend them. There was a famous Senate spending bill where the Senate amended the House bill by deleting the entire bill and replacing it, keeping only the HR number. I don't recall exactly what happened to it, and it was another senate RINO outrage, but it just shows that things aren't as clear as they seem in the grand Kabuki of DC.

RELEASE THE UNREDACTED FISA INFO....NOW!

***************

Trump should have done this BEFORE the election. The contents were political dynamite and would have exposed in detail the Deep State corruption. Instead of letting the American people see this subversion, he conceded to pressure from Rosenstein and our “allies” and backed off on his own order to “immediately declassify” the FISA docs.

Biggest mistake of Trump’s presidency in my opinion.
