“...Plus, when you vote in person, there is nothing anywhere that anyone would be able to look at to ID you as a Dem or a Rep so I’m not really buying this....”

Just a note, the demographic information which can infer this information has been around for a very long time. Social media alone has been mined by both sides of the argument. If it is simple enough for giggle to target adds from search parameters, and the advertising ID of phones and other devices can be and is mined, it is not unrealistic to think that info is out there. Not to discount the possibility of people inside the voter roles department “resisting.”

Just a thought.

Interesting. WOW. In Nebraska, we have always had to request a mail-in ballot, and it was made clear that we could not go vote at a polling place, once the ballot was sent to us.

I believe that for this round, we have now signed up to always receive (so, they will be unsolicited in the future) mail-in ballots.

It looks like an issue that may need clarification for future elections here.

Do you know what was the basis of the mail-in ballots having been sent out “unsolicited”?

North NJ is heavily D. If there’s a Blue Wave, Rat turnout here will be a good indication especially if Menendez easily fends off Hugin.

NJ hasn’t elected an R to the Senate since 1972.

Voted this morning in NJ-11. I've been voting in the same place for 35 years. There were at least twice as many people in the room as I've ever seen before, Presidential elections included.

No problem voting.

No problems at District 1. Even wore my bright red Phillies sweatshirt.

It is not a mail in ballot. There are no candidates to select on it.

It is an application for a mail-in ballot.

I was mailed an application as well from the NJ Republican State Committee, but in order to apply, The application must be filled out, stating exactly which election you want to apply for (general, primary, municipal, etc), and then it must be sent to the county clerk's office no later than Oct. 30th or delivered in person to the County Clerk by 3 pm on the day before the election.

It states on the application: "Once you apply for a Mail-In Ballot, you will not be permitted to vote by machine at your polling place in the same election".

I never applied, and I never received an actual mail-in ballot (and yes I'm bringing the application with me to vote). If they tell me I cannot vote, there is going to be hell.

Are you in North NJ? If not, bad sign if turnout’s low in South NJ.

No, he didn't.

All this mail-in, early-voting crap needs to stop. The Dems pushed it because of the potential for voter fraud, which they continue to exploit.

We need a constitutional, one-day election with, yes, some absentee voting capability for the military and those otherwise away from home.

Its more convenient to mail it in. I voted absentee.

That’s all true. But they have no way of knowing who I am until I tell them. We do not require ID. We just have to go to the right district. I could, in theory, give them my neighbors name and vote for him. Than go back later in the day and vote again as myself. I don’t see this being that easy to do. Not with any great effect or even reliable effect.

I’d thrown it out. The vote went fine, nobody questioned me, voting was light.

It is less constitutional to do so out of “convenience”.

He showed me the ballot he received. It was, indeed, an actual ballot, with candidate names and selection boxes. And he's adamant he didn't request it. For what it's worth, he's a very credible person.

and if you do vote by mail one time, you have to notify in writing to stop the mail in ballots or they will continue.

Yes, the New governor of New Jersey signed a law, shortly after he took office, that REQUIRED the county voter registrars to send mail in ballots to everyone who requested one for the 2016 general election, AND to consider such persons as PERMANENTLY on such a status unless and until the person takes action with the county to say they do not want to always get a mail in ballot.

The law left was weak on instructions to counties on implementation of the law. At a minimum counties were to send mail in ballots to those who got them in 2016, and include a notice concerning contacting the county to tell them you were opting out. (I got one).

The other parts my county included was (a) a deadline for notifying them, and (b) if you show up to vote at your regular ballot place, YOU CAN VOTE, but it will have to be on a paper provisional ballot.

I have no choice but that is what I will have to do.

At this point I trust the voting equipment more than I do my Democrat controlled county doing the counting of the provisional paper ballots. I suspect that the Dim governor felt the same way, only he was happy about that and expects to use fraud in counting of the provisional ballots to keep Menendez in office.
