I am totally against ethanol from every thing I studied on it. But it should fall by it’s own bad merits, not regulations. So those of you upset about the loosening of regulations on this, try to trust our President Trump. This might just be what is needed to let the market and natural consequences decide its fate.
Yes, you should be able to do that.
I don't know if you could strip out the residual gasoline.
Gasoline has an initial boiling point at atmospheric pressure of about 35 °C (95 °F) and a final boiling point of about 200 °C (395 °F).
I don't think I'd drink it.
I hope it's a long term plan. I know he's campaigning hard, but this is the wrong thing to do for the country.
There are a lot of people making money from this distortion of the free market (pork).
I still disagree. Ethanol is only 1 of the uses they get out of the corn they process for ethanol. What remains is high protein feed for animals and other uses. Any comparison that only uses the value of the ethanol is an incomplete analysis

President Trump will likely find himself in court over his Tuesday night decision to allow 15-percent ethanol fuel be sold year-round across the nation, according to the refinery industry's top lobbyist.
“The President’s proposal to waive the rules for E15 is unlawful and could actually make the problems of the Renewable Fuel Standard worse," Chet Thompson, president and CEO of the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers, said in a statement.
A spokeswoman for the refinery group told the Washington Examiner that it is "likely" the group will sue the administration for going ahead with the plan.
"Yes, it’s likely," said spokeswoman Ericka Perryman. She pointed out that Thompson had made clear earlier in an interview with Reuters that legal action is the only definite thing to come from Trump's action. “The only certainty from today’s actions is a lawsuit,” he said.
Is he removing all gov’t subsidies?
We ARE talking about that ONE use.
None of the others have anything AT ALL to do with the fact that it is used in gasoline.
I’m sure what you are saying is true.
It is not the topic here.
Use it for ALL the other processes.
Not one where it is not needed and indeed may be harmful to the vehicle.
As with small engines, alcohol is only a problem if the engine has not been designed to use alcohol. Cars designed for e10 use e10 just fine and get hundreds of thousands of miles of use
No surprise on many levels. But I still believe it is better to give less regulations than subsidies on ethanol. I trust President Trump. He EARNED my trust.
I have no problem with ALLOWNG E-15, as long as it’s not MANDATED, and along as it’s labeled as such. As far as I’m concerned, anyone stupid enough to buy it, is welcome to it.
I understand the President had to keep his campaign promise, but this ethanol/gas thing is just plain bad policy.
good to know.
At the end of the day, however, I must get off my lazy butt and do the research myself.
Not that it matters a whole lot now!!
Only have the car a year and don’t intend on selling it.
But i do need to read u anyway regrading various aspects, such as ethanol, which is the best oil to use, how often, if ever, to put 89 or even 91 in the car, etc.
I don’t think so. But don’t believe he is raising any subsidies. I am playing catch up with news from yesterday.
As long as I can still buy ethanol free for all my small engines.
Maybe, maybe not. If your car is rated for E-85, using E-15 shouldn't hurt it. Many, but not all currently produced cars are rated for E-85, so check your owner's manual.
However, using any blend of alcohol in your car is not economical. Ethanol contains only about half the energy per gallon as gasoline. So as you blend more and more of it with gasoline, your fuel economy gets less and less. The price difference does NOT compensate for this fuel economy loss.
Man I’m getting schooled today in ethanol usage.
I appreciate all of it.
I would guess that less than 1 percent of the people know these things.
I was not one of them.
I have a 2012 SRT8. Can you tell me a little more about this exhaust upgrade?
This will not require changing out any E10 pumps. If you dont get E15 now at your gas station, you still wont.
There are over two dozen states that have E15 as AN OPTION only for gas stations to possibly use. Its not mandated in place of E10 anywhere and it still wont be.
All this did was make E15 available through more of the year.
Corn alcohol is cheaper than gas but gives fewer MPG. Studies have shown that E15 can net savings per mile, despite this, but would only be okay for cars after 2001. Of course, water issues from alcohol can occur in these cars, too.
It appears there was no science supporting E15 not being available year round.
NO ETHANOL PLEEEEESSSSEEE!
WE HAVE PLENTY OF OIL!!
