President Trump will ceremonially swear in Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at a prime-time event in the East Room of the White House on Monday evening.
The ceremony follows perhaps the most contentious confirmation battle for a Supreme Court nominee in history and the administration is using Monday evening to show voters they can make good on its promises.
In front of a room full of reporters, television cameras and Republican lawmakers at 7:00 p.m. Monday, the president will stand next to Kavanaugh and present him to the nation as one of the crowning achievements of his first two years in office.
Trump did not give the same treatment to Justice Neil Gorsuch, whose confirmation process was far less controversial. The president swore Gorsuch in at an 11 a.m. ceremony in the Rose Garden.

According to c-span, it will be at 7:00 PM eastern.
“Rub their noses in it. God I love this President. :^)”
He’s great, huh? I’ll never tire of all this winning!
This is just great political instinct. Much like the way he hammered the NFL kneeling issue, he knows that the people who believe Ford are hopelessly lost anti-american extremists, and that a majority of the electorate saw the accusations as salacious, uncorroborated and politically motivated. Draw them out into the light and expose them!
Nice!
A Prime Time campaign commercial live on National TV.
I can feel the w-a-a—a-a-v-v-v-v-v-e-e starting now........
room full of reporters?
The media covered for Ford and the Dems. As RUSH said, Trmp calling attention to her testimony and lack of any facts made BK's confirmation a fete compli
“KAV didnt CAVE”
“I will NOT quit!!” Loved it.
When you endure screaming demons during the vote, I believe over the top ceremonial action is a perfect anecdote.
Good. Rub it in their faces.
Wish the ceremony would be in the offices of the NYT or Wa Compost..
Aw, man, someone ripped her lungs out
President Trump will CEREMONIALLY swear in Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at a prime-time event in the East Room of the White House on Monday evening
no charge
“Im not sure this is the best thing to do. Theyre already pissed and frantic to the limit.”
Kavanaugh deserves it.
Kavanaugh’s parents, kids, and wife deserve it.
Trump deserves it.
WE deserve it.
Why should HE get short shrift, when other SCOTUS have had their moments in the sun? If they skipped it, the Rats win.
Somewhere I heard it was ceremonial but don’t know for sure...
He’s doing the right thing here. It’s not a victory lap. It’s a nice thing to do so that the public gets a chance to see that Justice Kavenaugh is not the monster the leftists made him out to be.
“When you endure screaming demons during the vote, I believe over the top ceremonial action is a perfect anecdote.”
On Sunday, I asked the preacher how much demonic activity was going on in Senate chambers for the last couple of weeks. He just shook his head thinking about the mess, and walked away.
If we REALLY want to rub their noses in it we should push hard for investigations into everyone involved in the farce, as well as push for impeachment for violating the expected conduct for a U.S. Senator.
There should be some legal consequences to all this, otherwise it’ll just continue.
I thought this was superfluous, i.e. - for Gorsuch all they had was the one Rose Garden ceremony. Did they do two for Gorsuch? One private and then one in the Rose Garden?
If so, I’m ok with it. If not, then it opens themselves up to criticism and nothing else. Take the win, flip the ball to the referee and prepare for the next win while they waste time gnashing their teeth over this one.
Well, it is superfluous but the timing of events dictates the second ceremony as necessary.
The instant swearing in was necessary for the new judge to be able to report for work today. He must be ready hear cases and act tomorrow.
That situation is far from “normal”
THAT! Excellent!
