Obama-era Attorney General Eric Holder reacted to the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court Saturday by questioning the legitimacy of the court and arguing that it needed to regain the nation's trust.
Holder -- who served as the nations top lawyer under former President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2015 -- said the treatment of former Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland by Senate Republicans, as well as Kavanaughs confirmation, meant the legitimacy of the court was in question.
With the confirmation of Kavanaugh and the process which led to it, (and the treatment of Merrick Garland), the legitimacy of the Supreme Court can justifiably be questioned, he tweeted. The Court must now prove - through its work - that it is worthy of the nations trust.
He did not say how the court would go about doing that.
The Senate voted 50-48 to confirm Kavanaugh Saturday after a rancorous confirmation fight and a week-long FBI probe to settle concerns about sexual assault allegations that threatened his nomination. It marked the tightest successful Supreme Court confirmation vote in over 100 years.

Elections have consequences! We won! You lost!

Post of the day!
They all thought they were really SOMEBODIES, now they are finding out that they are really NOBODIES!
And nobody cares, BOO HOO.
+1
Eric,
This court might your only reprieve from a lamp post. Think about it.....
E
He's right about that and Kavanaugh's confirmation is a step in the direction of that redemption.
“How bout the legitimacy of OCommies birthplace, Holder?”
That question itself was a misdirection from Obama’s lack of eligibility to serve as POTUS.
They said “Let’s argue about a birth in Hawaii in the early 1960’s” knowing that the new state was remiss in keeping accurate birth records and thereby avoiding the question of Jus Saquine, the lack of US citizenship for one of Obama’s parents.
I wish FREEPERS would stop repeating the Dem’s talking points. Obama is/was ineligible because of the potential of dual citizenship via his parentage.....PERIOD.
This S.O.B. should be in jail.
Oh no a Supremes that follows the constitution as the law of the land. Whatll we do??
“...Eric the Red has a lot of guts saying this after he and the commie president that appointed him nearly destroyed the rule of law in our country....”
These Marxists are not used to losing. And they are very bad at it. To the point of insanity and incoherent stupidity. The good thing in all this, is that I feel the Repubs, such as they are, have been rallied and have woken up a bit. It is time to beat the America haters and Constitution destroyers.
Fast and Furious Eric sez what?
What a putz.
FU Holder
That was Clinton IIRC.
one poster said he did the staff work
This is the same as jury nullification in the O. J. Simpson verdict, applied to the High Court.
Eric, if I were you, I’d shut the F up, lay low and thank God everyday I’m not in prison. Where you should be if the Repubs had any balls.
The Senates job is to give advice and consent (or not)
Their advice “No thanks”
Their consent “No thanks”
Here we go. New York, Cali, Illinois maybe, will refuse to honor a 5-4 SCOTUS ruling because the court is “illegitimate”. Game on.
...Neither one could pass the LSAT in my opinion...
Someone else took the LSAT for them.
Someone also even attended law school impersonating Barry.
Off to the hoosegow with Holder
