Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on Monday defended himself against the sexual assault allegations roiling his nomination by saying he was a virgin through high school and college.
"Were talking about an allegation of sexual assault," Kavanaugh said in a clip released from his interview on Fox News Channel's "The Story with Martha MacCallum."
"Ive never sexually assaulted anyone," Kavanaugh said. "I did not have sexual intercourse or anything close to sexual intercourse in high school or for many years thereafter ... The girls from the schools I went to, and I, were friends."
"Through all these years that were in question, you were a virgin?" Fox News host Martha MacCallum asked.
"Thats correct," Kavanaugh replied, adding that he did not have sex until "many years after" college.
Neither of the two accusations regarding Kavanaugh involve sexual intercourse. Christine Blasey Ford is alleging Kavanaugh held her down and groped her over her clothes during a high school party in 1982, and Deborah Ramirez claims he exposed himself without her consent during a gathering at Yale University a few years later.
Fox News released clips from the interview throughout the evening on Monday.
At another point in the interview, Kavanaugh vowed he is "not going anywhere" despite the allegations.
"Im not going to let false accusations drive us out of this process," he said, sitting beside his wife as she nodded.
Kavanaugh during the interview denied attending the party in Ford's account.
"[I am] not questioning and have not questioned that perhaps Dr. Ford at some point in her life was sexually assaulted by someone at some place but what I know is Ive never sexually assaulted anyone," he said.
Ford has stated that she is sure Kavanaugh was the man who allegedly assaulted her in an episode that she says has caused her decades of emotional trauma.
The full interview is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. EST.
Hey nice win against Northern Illinois.
SPOT ON!
He would have been a real priest.
also remember about 1983 aids became known but much about it unknown. looking at the yearbook of ford i can see why someone with ambition, and ability like kavanaugh would not care to play aids roulette...
Kavanaugh just won the sympathy of 50 million highly organized fundamentalist Christians, and maybe another 30 million conservative Catholics, who will be calling their congresscritters tomorrow.
Unfortunately you may be right.
I read credible anonymous online allegations about that.
That's why his mind went so quickly - from doing sterling #MeToo work last year, to working with the gum-cuzzling Democrat whore Jane Mayer this year.
When you word it that way...lots of demand, and no supply!
I am a virgin. I learned long ago to keep it to myself - and I mean not just in society at large but in the church!
I have been in ministry in two denominations. I wanted to serve the Lord from age five.
The Church Girls I knew - in the congregation or at the private (so-called) Christian school - wanted Bad Boys or Success Objects, not a sincere man of faith.
Am I bitter at times? You bet.
The worst thing is that “Christian” women assume I am either a serial fornicator or a homoerotic male. No one assumes that I, a devout Christian, am merely chaste because none of their fellow females wanted me for a husband (although they used, before I stopped playing their game, to love having me as a trusted friend - more trusted than their lovers.)
The sick truth is that, in modern Churchianity, it is regarded as more embarrassing and unseemly to come out as a virginal male than as a homoerotic male.
I sometimes fantasize about showing up at church with a silk-screened shirt: Warning! Adult Male Virgin! Approach At Own Risk!
Well, I came to the conclusion that for women who support this Ford woman, there are only two choices:
1.) They are stupid, because they don’t see it is a setup.
2.) They are evil, because they would readily destroy this man’s life with a known lie.
There is no third option.
There is nothing wrong with you.
I find it astounding that publically revealing having been a virgin before marriage is so controversial.
Maybe it should be said more often so as to set an example!
God bless you Pastor, youre just the kind of man Im looking for. Good, chaste, God fearing Christian men are very difficult to find these days.
People embarrassed by virginity before marriage is embarrassing.
I was wondering about the celibacy thing for priests. Does the celibacy begin when they do their priest oath or vows. Can they have had sex before that time?
Well said!
FReepers being embarrassed by virginity is.. Embarrassing!
I knew guys in high school that would pack their own rubbers in their wallets to the extent that they would wear a circle brand in them. It was just a stupid adolescent thing. We all knew most of it was just talk and if they ever actually had to use the thing, they would be dried out and useless.
He is the only one in DC who can claim this.
With luck they’ll also turn out in November.
