I’ve been saying all week that you could expect another late hit on Brett Kavanaugh over the weekend, and right on schedule, we have the New Yorker story, which, as Paul and Scott have already noted, is pretty thin gruel. But it was absolutely necessary for the left to come up with a story like this, for several reasons.
First, one thing that is true in virtually all cases of sexual predation (think Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein) is that there is a pattern of behavior, and usually several other women stepping forward. This trait was conspicuously absent until now. We know that the media—and no doubt large portions of the Democratic establishment—have been trolling feverishly to find another woman with a story. This is the best they can do—a hazy, indirect, recovered memory?
Second, even a story as thin as this—even if it falls apart upon further scrutiny—reinforces a subtle aspect of the leftist narrative against Kavanaugh, which repeats the argument made against the wholly innocent Duke lacrosse players a decade ago—namely, that Kavanaugh, as a product of Georgetown Prep and Yale, is a product of “privilege,” which for the collective-guilt left these days means you must atone for the sins of your class. (Recall that something like 80 Duke faculty members signed a declaration attesting to the guilt of the lacrosse team based wholly on this ideological ground.) I’d love to be able to do a confidential survey of Georgetown Prep (and Holton Arms, Dr. Ford’s perp school) about how they feel about the left’s sweeping attack on the supposedly reprobate “culture” of their schools. Alumni of those schools can’t be thrilled at being dragged into the mud in this way. (I note that some lefties are mocking Kavanaugh as some kind of nerd for having his calendar from 1982. Well it turns out I have one too, though I don’t know where it is at the moment—likely in a storage box in the garage. Back in 1982 I was a serious runner—tow marathons and two triathlons that year plus a lot of road races—and my wall calendar is where I made my daily notations of my distance and training schemes, as well as travel and even movies I went to. I’ll confess to being a nerd.)
Third, I think this entire late gambit has been one huge bluff by the Democrats, intending to intimidate Republicans into dropping Kavanaugh. I don’t think Dr. Ford has any intention of testifying before the Judiciary Committee this week, and I expect come Wednesday we’ll get a self-serving announcement attacking Chairman Grassley and the Senate Republicans for “bullying” and creating a “hostile environment” in which Dr. Ford cannot “safely” tell her story. At that point, Grassley should call for an immediate committee vote to proceed with the nomination. This latest story in just another attempt to keep the intimidation fires alive. Fine: I say let’s call the bluff and request that Deborah Ramirez, the source of the new allegation, present herself for sworn testimony before the committee.
That’s what I’m afraid of, the 3 blind RINOs.
I tweeted POTUS that I expected 3 more lying hags to crawl out of the woodwork if Grassley took the bait and gave them more time to delay the vote.
Now hold the vote Monday, the left already damaged Brett’s sterling reputation, per the Polls, so now lets seat him next to Judge Thomas and let the left go to hell.
Kavanaugh deserved so much better treatment than this. Damn what this dying country has become.
For the last two weeks, I’ve suspected that there was gonna be one of those “when the other shoe drops” moments where the Dems come up with a new “accusation”.
That’s why Feinstein has refused to release the letter Ford wrote as well as why Ford herself has kept coming up with excuse after excuse why she couldn’t testify - I’m afraid of flying, my family has been threatened, etc.

I think now that we have 3 females that cannot remember much about anything except they were assaulted by Kavanaugh while drunk, it’s high time for the FBI to step in and Investigate the apparent Conspiracy to Defraud the Government. (1) falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact;
(2) makes any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation; or
(3) makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry;
shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years or, if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism (as defined in section 2331), imprisoned not more than 8 years, or both. Remember what broke the recovered memory child abuse witchhunts in the 80s? When a little girl in Montana told investigators her grandmother “put her head in my vagina and looked around”. That’s when everyone knew recovered repressed memories weren’t always true.
Avenatti just took it to that level of absurdity and ruined it for the democrats.
Gop leadership are willing to be played..they are willing fools. If Trump does not tell them to man up immediately after we will lose in nov.. gop misreads the voters.. huge mistake.
Grassley and the committee will need to put up a minimum standard of proof for these hazy memories.

The only way to win is not to play: Grassley should just state the obvious, that the whole confirmation process has been turned into a farce by Feinstein and the Democrat's political games and put Kavanaugh up for an immediate vote.
Putting the onus back on the Dems for the political manipulation might give cover for RINOs like Collins and Corker to vote for Kavanaugh.
Waiting for more baseless allegations is just stupid.
Even Anita Hill -- who was almost certainly lying -- took the step of filing a sworn affidavit that served as the basis of the FBI investigation of her allegations.
The big red flag here in the Kavanaugh case is that we have people making outlandish allegations -- and then immediately start demanding conditions for testimony or include caveats in their allegations ("I was drinking heavily," "I don't remember all the details," etc.) that are nothing more than ready-made excuses for why they should NOT be expected to give any sworn testimony.
Rush predicted this last week. He said the rats will bring forward more accusers.
No worries. If the confirmation is not approved, neither is the budget. Trump will be back in charge sucking the oxygen out of the media.
