WASHINGTON Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh has calendars from the summer of 1982 that he plans to hand over to the Senate Judiciary Committee that do not show a party consistent with the description of his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, according to someone working for his confirmation.
The calendars do not disprove Dr. Blaseys allegations, Judge Kavanaughs team acknowledged. He could have attended a party that he did not list. But his team will argue to the senators that the calendars provide no corroboration for her account of a small gathering at a house where he allegedly pinned her to a bed and tried to remove her clothing.
The calendars show, according to the person working for his confirmation, that he was out of town much of the summer at the beach or away with his parents. When he was at home, the calendars list his basketball games, movie outings, football workouts and college interviews. A few parties are mentioned but include names of friends other than those identified by Dr. Blasey.

“Franklin Planner in 1980s”
OMG. I had totally forgotten about that cult. We actually had seminars at the office on maintaining perfect Franklin Planners. I’ll bet that’s exactly what BK has.
I have all mine too 74 - 94.
Thin and handy, it will fit in your purse or car or anywhere you need it to be! Includes clear vinyl covers. Paper. 6 1/2" x 3 1/2"
I used to carry one in my pocket until I got an electronic organizer. Cheap and very reliable at all times, if you keep a pencil with you.
This is why they had to find another one.
Now we are playing Whack a Hoe.
Actually they are still selling them to this day
And then came the Palm Pilot, a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant)
Al Gore got one of the first style of phones, a blackberry, just before he was going to publicly concede to Geo Bush in their run for the presidency in 2000.
As he was on his way he got a text telling him to not concede because they could steal the election.
This was when I first got involved in protesting; going to rallies at the CA capitol (Sacramento) and Fresno, CA. (Home of the Free Republic Towers)
Eventually he conceded.
Oh and he invented the internets...
I believe I heard that too.
Makes sense.
McConnell and Ryan do NOT want a strict Constitutionalist on the Supreme Court because they are both swamp critters who want the status quo to continue.
That's why we elected Trump, but the Good Old Boys do NOT want to re institute our Constitutional Republic because it would MAGA!
Pretty un-American of them
A very organized person who will become a premiere judge and be nominated to SCOTUS some day...
Then Grassley will give it to her. To appease Flake and Collins you know.
Bitter sarcasm detected.
Last summer (2017) I found a box in my basement with all my
old issues of “Jr. Historian”, a club I belonged to in high school.
Yep. I’m a boring nerd. :)
I would suggest that Brett Kavanaugh’s mother who also happens to be a judge encouraged him to keep a careful diary of all his activities because she would have lived through the disgusting smear campaigns against Judge Bork and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and would have been very well aware of the importance of her son’s having a bimbo-proof squeaky clean background if he had serious aspirations in the direction of becoming a judge and one day even becoming a Supreme Court Justice.
Now you know two.
I have every LES, order, & 201 file document from the day I enlisted in June 1965 until my final discharge in 1993.
My dad passed away recently, and when going thru his stuff I found his pocket calendars from back in the 60’s and 70’s. These are not wall calendars, but paper calendar books, usually with a leatherette cover, with 1 week spanning 2 pages, so you could see your week at a glance. They were about the size of a cell phone. I remember Dad ALWAYS had his on him, and he recorded every place he had to go, who he was meeting with, phone numbers, etc. They were extremely common with business people, and I bet some mentor got Kavanaugh in the habit of using them early, which is part of why he is so successful now.
For a long time, students have been encouraged in their orientations to University to keep planners/calendars; I don’t doubt this has also been encouraged in college-prep high school studies.
I wish they wouldn’t have announced this.
No way she’s going to come out with a date or more specific time frame now.
Guess what? The people in the room for this one back up Kavanaugh too.
Or maybe Ed Whelan is right after all.

I still use one of these as a paper backup to my I-phone calendar. In fact, the brand I use is called “At A-Glance.” And I have my old pocket calendars going back to the late 1980s in case I want to jog my memory about something that happened at work back then.
I do, because we used to keep farm records on them. So they are filed away with tax returns.
