The Senate Judiciary Committee has reportedly reached a tentative agreement for Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, to testify next week.
The deal, struck hours after Ford's lawyer responded to an early afternoon deadline saying that she would testify before the panel, would have her testify on Thursday, according to multiple reports.
The person briefed on talks between the Judiciary Committee and Ford's lawyers told the AP that talks would continue into Sunday.

Wow, I think you’re right. It’s all over the web that he has to be confirmed by Oct 1st to hear cases so I don’t get the confusion but will attempt to find out.

I’d bet my house she shows up. It extends the circus another week minimum. She has nothing to fear with top cover from the media and a submissive doormat GOP.
I know! I know! The agreement is for Kavanaugh to withdraw his name and then then then the blue wave will hit and Trump will be forced to nominate somebody as far left as they are OR he will be impeached and removed and and Pence will become president and ... they haven’t thought it through any further than that. The goal is to preserve RvW at any cost.
And Republicans are considering using a counsel, potentially a woman, ask questions and avoid the optics of 11 male Republican senators questioning Ford. But Ford's lawyers have raised concerns that it would make a hearing too much like a trial.
But there's nothing magical about that date when it comes to REQUIRING justices to be seated. Scalia didn't wait until the end of a court term to die in his sleep, did he? :-)

This IS a trial. Anyone who says otherwise is shining us on.
And, it’s a trial without due process, evidence, proof, or actual report of crime. This is no knock law.
