The Senate Judiciary Committee has reportedly reached a tentative agreement for Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, to testify next week.
The deal, struck hours after Ford's lawyer responded to an early afternoon deadline saying that she would testify before the panel, would have her testify on Thursday, according to multiple reports.
The person briefed on talks between the Judiciary Committee and Ford's lawyers told the AP that talks would continue into Sunday.
Tweet: Nicholas Fanos: NEW: Per multiple sources familiar, lawyers for Blasey Ford, Grassley and Feinstein have tentatively agreed to a THURSDAY hearing in a call this evening.
Someone else wrote about this. There is a Statue of Limitations on what she has accused Kavanaugh of. No Statue of Limitations on violent Rape and she has not accused him of that. At least not yet.
Shes free to file a police report but your claiming Judge Kavanaugh WILL BE ARRESTED based solely on her accusation? It aint happening! Unlike a spineless senate committee law enforcement still REQUIRES actual evidence and/or eyewitnesses testimony before anyone gets arrested and charged!
There obviously is NO physical evidence from 1982 still available and so far EVERY witness she named either has NO MEMORY or flat out denies the incident ever took place! So unless Kavanaugh were to out of the blue CONFESS they have NO GROUNDS to arrest and charge him!!
Just my guesses. Why so snarky?
because you wrote it as a statement. no indication you were guessing (ends in question mark) or saying it’s just your opinion (IMO). FR is not easy to read many times because too many people write sarcasm or opinion or guesses without indicating - adding to confusion of other readers and lots of excess comments trying to figure out truth.
Laughed when I saw this.......as it’s beginning to look like they’re ‘all’ Rinos.
Yes, it would be really easy to say that. Our guys are certainly showing they’re either in this with the Dems or just gutless wonders trying to keep their jobs by dithering around this.
At any rate looks like they ‘all’ want to push this past the mid-terms or they’d be singing a different tune rather than play marbles as they’re doing. Heck even Trumps delaying release of documents......so perhaps they have something up thei sleeves they’re not going reveal?
Interesting no matter how you look at it.
That could change tomorrow....lots of $$$$ floating around these days.
"It also could have an impact on the courts work. The justices are scheduled to hear arguments in 10 cases during the first two weeks of October, including an Oct. 1 fight over the scope of the Endangered Species Act and an Oct. 10 clash over the power of federal immigration officials to detain convicted criminals who have been released after serving their sentences."
"If Kavanaugh isnt confirmed by then, the court would be susceptible to splitting 4-4 and having to hear arguments a second time to let the new justice break a tie. His absence also could delay decisions to take up new cases."
Kavanaugh vote could slip to weeks before congressional election
He sure is.
>>>This could backfire badly for the dems...<<<
Sure it will. This Woman will be the new Mother Teresa by the time this is over, if Mother Teresa ran Planned Parenthood that is.
The Country held Hostage by a confused Woman with Emotional Issues validated by Repressed Memory Therapy. Her hatred of Republicans and POTUS Trump is just the icing on the Cake.
It'll work out. Kav gets confirmed, dems look petty and corrupt, R's look too accommodating.
Mitch and all the rest know its curtains in Nov. if they fail.

In this instance, it's not "Republicans". It's 2 or 3 or maybe 4 Republicans screwing up the deal.

I don’t disagree with you on that point. But there is a underlying weakness that runs through the GOP. They do not have a winning mindset. They are too quick to appease. This is something that is deeply embedded in the party’s DNA.
Even Donald Trump is having a tough time trying to change the party and instill a winning mindset in them.
Please ping me if you get an answer. Thanks.
Why is time on our side? Because ultimately people have a sense of fairness and this baseless crap will backfire. I hate that people like Flakey and Collins are allowing this to happen. Grassley is trading time for votes, and I believe it will work out for good and that the backlash will be severe when it is over.
Most all always play defense. Follow the boss’ lead.

I think they are deliberately trying to run out the clock.
From what I understand from Tucker Carlson show yesterday, there is a big problem if he is not confirmed next week...Clock will have run out.
Yeah ain’t that sumpin’?
eGOPers are spineless
Thursday will fall through, and all subsequent attempts to negotiate her appearance will come this close but also fall through at the last minute. She wins only as long as she isn't actually testifying.
She'll never testify, but she'll get lucrative book deals and a permanent seat with the ladies on The View.
News report I expect to see next week:
Ms. Fords latest demands for testifying before the Senate include being addressed only as Your Vaginal Highness, each Senator wearing a pink pussy hat, no men allowed to speak to her at any time, and Kavanaugh to be held incommunicado in a sealed closet with no light or fresh air for the duration of her testimony and 72 hours following...
