WASHINGTON The deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, suggested last year that he secretly record President Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration, and he discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit.

Trump should immediately call him into the Oval Office and ask if this story is true.

Actually the best path is for Trump to call up Sessions and demand the Sessions fire RR immediately or Trump will fire them both.

RR trying to save his ass: The New York Timess story is inaccurate and factually incorrect, he said in a statement. I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda. But let me be clear about this: Based on my personal dealings with the president, there is no basis to invoke the 25th Amendment.
Will people still defend Jeff Sessions? Trump deserves blames for not firing Rosenstein sooner.

>>>Rosentein will be fired by this evening.

This could be Trump jerking the NYTimes around again. Sometimes, it’s just fun for no reason, I think.

For what it's worth, this moron Schmidt has been documented to be one of the leading purveyors of manipulated news reports for the NYT.
A perfect case in point is posted below. Michael Schmidt was listed as a reporter for BOTH Of these stories.

Yup. Rosenstein should have been fired a long time ago. Session recuses himself, yet Rosenstein, who is up to his neck in the FISA warrant mess (among others), does not. Bull freaking excrement.

CNBC reporting that (We hope that) Rosenstein says story is inaccurate, (because The President would now have justification to fire).

That’s right. And if Mr. Sessions decides to vacate his office, as he has threatened to do were the President to fire RR, the President has authority to replace him with anyone who has previously been confirmed by the Senate.

Actually the best path is for Trump to call up Sessions and demand the Sessions fire RR immediately or Trump will fire them both. Agreed. And I hope no one suggests that President Trump just exercise "nth dimension chess" regarding this. This is the chief of the national law enforcement agency trying to recruit people to help remove President Trump, and being willing to clandestinely record conversations with President Trump.

Rosenweasel has issued a denial. What does the NY TIMES do?
Why would they write this? To get Trump angry enough to immediately fire him?
