ON PRAYER
The Sacred Scriptures urge us to pray always. That seems impossible at first sight; you can't spend your life on your knees. But people pray in many ways. Physical positions and movements, the lotus position for Buddhists, kneeling and folding hands for many Christian faith groups are prayer. Any attention paid to God is prayer. Whether or not any words are spoken, the actions themselves express awareness of, and communication with, God. As St. Teresa of Avila put it, way back in the 16th century, "For though we are always in the presence of God, it seems to me that those who practice prayer are especially so, because they can see all the time that God is looking at them; whereas others may be in the Lord's presence for several days without ever remembering that God can see them". We could go without another drop for the rest of this year and still have more than in all of 2017, or in 2016. Only a couple inches to go to equal the amounts received in 2015 or 2014.
Not a record, but after a couple of dry years—and having a well—it is mostly welcome.
Being on a well, I used to say “I like anything falling out of the sky”—until my car was nearly totaled by a hail storm in 2000.

Hey there, Kathy.
Yes, worked at the museum today. No more mannequins to wrestle. WHEW!! Right now, there are miscellaneous items to be gone over - - duffle bags, back packs, etc. If it’s fabric, I get it. It’s a nice break in the routine.
Got a tour from one of the guys and videoed it for home studying. I want to be able to help out as a tour guide when needed and there’s a lot to learn about. One step closer to that goal.

Maybe some rain by next weekend. I think I better water tomorrow.
Yesterday was a record high for September 7th...67 degrees.
Relaxing this evening and will watch a movie away from the computer. Got a bunch done at work today, but nothing on “the list”, so I think I’ll go back tomorrow. Lots of corrections came in Friday and I really want them done and entered before tackling Monday...most of my units just started on the new system on Labor Day, and I have the security folks with multiple projects at multiple pay rates and lots of questions that only the boss can fix. I have a feeling that this coming week is going to be a real issue.
Anything that they can’t make work in the new system means they send me manual timesheets and I do the entries. I need all the ones I got Friday entered and done with.

Hmmmmm, yep. If no rain’s expected until then, watering sounds like a good idea. You want to keep the grass healthy so it can survive the winter and come back next spring.
Your 67 degrees sounds NICE. We can’t even get lows that cool - LOL - though we should a few nights next week.
Sounds like another rough week ahead at work. :-( It’ll be nice when - IF - everyone can figure out that new system they saddled y’all with.
Enjoy your movie!

LOL! If we lived closer, you’d be welcome to them! They are little cuties, though. Just gotta find a way to get them fixed when we get back from vacation. Ugh.

LOL! It’s a good thing we don’t live closer because those two would be hard to resist.
Maybe Tessa knows someone with live trap you can borrow in order to catch them.
One thing good will be you’ll be able to tame them a bit more while they’re in the bathroom recuperating. :-)

It has cooled off some. Gizmo loves this weather. I ended up chasing him around the golf course yesterday. 🤣

"I VOW TO THEE, my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see her King; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace."

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!
Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine.
When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.

Were you part of getting all planes on the ground?...
I was not a Controller but I did work many items off of the emergency check list.
