ON PRAYER
The Sacred Scriptures urge us to pray always. That seems impossible at first sight; you can't spend your life on your knees. But people pray in many ways. Physical positions and movements, the lotus position for Buddhists, kneeling and folding hands for many Christian faith groups are prayer. Any attention paid to God is prayer. Whether or not any words are spoken, the actions themselves express awareness of, and communication with, God. As St. Teresa of Avila put it, way back in the 16th century, "For though we are always in the presence of God, it seems to me that those who practice prayer are especially so, because they can see all the time that God is looking at them; whereas others may be in the Lord's presence for several days without ever remembering that God can see them". One of my bosses had been at Khe Sanh.
Our bosses liked to give him the difficult and sometimes dangerous assignments, on the theory that after experiencing Khe Sanh nothing here stateside would rattle him.
We had another supervisor, of Cambodian extraction, who had lived through Pol Pot’s killing fields. Absolutely nothing that happened at work stressed him out.

The temps have indeed gone down, and it feels like autumn already.
Rainy today though, so No Hike, No Bike.
Penny’s got a birthday this month. Eight years old. That’s 56 in Dog Years. (She’s catching up to me)
Still in great shape though.

I’d say there’s a very good chance there are Freeper USMC veterans who remember.

Our good days do seem too short, and our difficult days far too long. But both kinds of days cause us to long for even better days ahead.
The apostle Paul said that he and the Corinthians longed to be “clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life” (2 Cor. 5:4 NIV).
Although the Lord is with us in this life, we cannot see Him face to face. Now we live by faith, not by sight (v. 7). God made us for the very purpose of being near to Him always (v. 5). Heaven will be a forever hello. By Anne Cetas

Tsk, tsk, fergetted to get pix of da pups. LOL! You’ll remember one day and I look forward to seeing the cuties.
I hope your son just has a cold and not the flu. That stuff’s going around here already! We have a friend who’s a teacher and she caught it from one or more of her snot-nosed students.
It was a good day. One of the guys who’s a museum board member took me through on a tour while I recorded video. Now I have something to look at at home and study a little at a time so it’ll sink in. Soon I’ll be able to help out as a tour guide. :-)

Awesome! That’s the best rainfall you’ve gotten in a while.
Your hubby won’t be too happy about it when he has to drag out the mower again. LOL
So y’all chose Sugar for her name? Great name for that lil cutie. Both of the girlies are adorable.
It’s a good thing we live so far apart, otherwise those two dollbabies would probably end up at the farm. LOL! They are precious!

Good evening, mountainlion, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
You must have had a VERY busy day, that 9/11/01 day. Were you part of getting all planes on the ground?
