Dallas police say one of their officers was going home after her shift when she walked into the wrong apartment and shot and killed the man inside.
The officer was in full uniform just after 10 p.m. Thursday evening when she walked into an apartment unit she believed to be her own at the 1200 block of South Lamar, about a quarter-mile from the Dallas Police Department.

WTF?
Murder.
Maybe 1st—certainly 2nd degree.
The folks they pull from the sewage to fill the ranks of PD’s these days.
She needs to go to prison for life.
Universal key?
Smell Test - FAIL
Wow! That's a lot to go wrong all at one time.
Did she call the cops?
“when she walked into an apartment unit she believed to be her own”
Was she wasted?

Her life needs to end in the Texas execution chamber.
Don’t you often walk in to the wrong residence and think it’s your place? Yeah, me neither. Usually the first clue is the key don’t work in the lock. Do I remember to lock MY front door once inside? Uh, yeah. Do I set the security “locks” on the garage door openers? Uh, yeah. Somebody going down on this I would think.
Standards have been lowered

Unless she was plastered. Or something worse ...
He apparently didn’t have a dog.
To make sense, he must have left his apartment door unlocked, and she must have left her’s unlocked too. Some people trust the exterior door to keep people out.
How do you walk into the wrong apartment as a police officer thinking you live there? Also sorry but a police officer is not a job for a woman.
My immediate thought also. I'd bet on it.
Well I was about to say that until I realized that Just Us will be the “justice” in this case.
Jilted lover.
