Fox Business just reported that Cindy McCain is spilling the beans that Kyl will be chosen to replace.
Guess that's better than if Doucy named Flake.

So how long until this new Kyl seat is up for election? IOW how long does John Kyl get to serve? There will be an election to fill out the remainder of McCain's term in 2020. Then the seat us up for election to a full term in 2022.
To: G Larry
I agree. But I only care about one vote.

I’m so happy Jon Kyl will be taking John McCain’s seat! Jay Sekulow said on his radio show a little while ago that he will be a gain and will be there for about 2 years! We could have had a real RINO, like McCain, so I’m very happy!
To: LRoggy
He will vote better than McCain, and solid for Kavanaugh.

I was hoping for Sheriff Joe. Sheriff Joe is 86, which is well beyond retirement age. It would not serve the people of Arizona to be represented by a senator who would be forced to run for re-election at 88 years of age, and possibly die in office before his term expires.

Kyl is likely a caretaker: holding the seat for Republicans, but will not be the Republican nominee in the special election.

I presume and hope that Gov. Ducey simply didn’t want to pick a candidate and give the person a leg up for the special election, so he picked Kyl as a “caretaker.”
In about four months (technically, four months form yesterday), Kyl will be the senior senator.

He’s been guiding Kavanaugh through the confirmation process, and now he gets to vote for Kavanaugh.
