Monica Lewinsky ends on-stage interview after being asked Clinton question

Monica Lewinsky ended a live interview and walked off stage at an event in Jerusalem on Monday night after being asked a question involving former President Clinton.

Lewinsky sat for the start of an interview at the Jerusalem Convention Center when Channel 2 news anchor Yonit Levi brought up Clinton's comments from June when he said he didn't believe he owed Lewinsky an apology.

“Do you still expect that apology? A personal apology?" Levi asked Lewinsky on Monday.

“I’m sorry, I’m not going to be able to do this,” Lewinsky responded, before putting down her microphone and walking off stage.

A spokesman declined to say whether Lewinsky left the stage because of the question itself, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Channel 2 News said in a statement reported by the Post that it thanked Lewinsky for her appearance and "we respect her sensitivity and wish her luck."

Before the interview, Lewinsky delivered a speech where she spoke about the 1998 scandal involving Clinton while she was a White House intern.

Lewinsky said that when the story broke, she “was shunned from almost every community which I belonged to, including my religious community.”

“That led to some very dark times for me,” she added, according to the Post.

Clinton came under criticism from members of his own party in June after forcefully defending the fact that he never personally apologized to Lewinsky.

The former president noted in the NBC News interview that he had apologized publicly but said he hasn’t apologized to her personally.

“I have never talked to her,” he said. “But I did say publicly on more than one occasion that I was sorry. That’s very different. The apology was public.”

Right.

If she started a business and moved on and was interviewed for her business success I can see how she might be upset with an unrelated question.

But she's famous for her relationship with Clinton. What does she expect people to ask her about?

How could she NOT know what would be asked even in another country. Hmm the more we talk about it the less sorry I am feeling for her. LOL

Maybe Bill could have at least offered to pay her dry cleaning bill.

It sure would have saved him a lot of trouble too.

Ms. Lewinsky owes Linda Tripp a heartfelt apology.

Linda saved Monica’s life. The Clintons would have had her murdered.

What did she think she was going to be interviewed about? She is a nobody with no accomplishments and is known only for her relationship with Clinton.

I for one feel sorry for her. Bill Clinton is a predator. Everyone he touches pays a price while he gets off scott free. She was just trying to keep her job. That is the essence of sexual harassment. She was very much a victim as far as I’m concerned. When the CEO of a company makes it clear that an unpaid helper has a future for playing ball and no future for refusing, that is the very definition of sexual harassment, and has no place at work. Bill Clinton preyed upon her. She should never have been put in that situation to begin with.

Clinton had Bill Richardson try to get her jobs. I think he found her 2 . One was with L’Oréal in NYC , IIRC . She turned them both down . This was before Drudge broke the story .

Monica Blewhimski is still around?

Sorry, her street cred died prior to ten years ago.

Good for her - kind of - they were just using her as a controversy for some sort of ratings and she’s better off not being part of it....leaving wasn’t as good as not showing up but it’s a start...
