Monica Lewinsky ends on-stage interview after being asked Clinton question

Monica Lewinsky ended a live interview and walked off stage at an event in Jerusalem on Monday night after being asked a question involving former President Clinton.

Lewinsky sat for the start of an interview at the Jerusalem Convention Center when Channel 2 news anchor Yonit Levi brought up Clinton's comments from June when he said he didn't believe he owed Lewinsky an apology.

“Do you still expect that apology? A personal apology?" Levi asked Lewinsky on Monday.

“I’m sorry, I’m not going to be able to do this,” Lewinsky responded, before putting down her microphone and walking off stage.

A spokesman declined to say whether Lewinsky left the stage because of the question itself, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Channel 2 News said in a statement reported by the Post that it thanked Lewinsky for her appearance and "we respect her sensitivity and wish her luck."

Before the interview, Lewinsky delivered a speech where she spoke about the 1998 scandal involving Clinton while she was a White House intern.

Lewinsky said that when the story broke, she “was shunned from almost every community which I belonged to, including my religious community.”

“That led to some very dark times for me,” she added, according to the Post.

Clinton came under criticism from members of his own party in June after forcefully defending the fact that he never personally apologized to Lewinsky.

The former president noted in the NBC News interview that he had apologized publicly but said he hasn’t apologized to her personally.

“I have never talked to her,” he said. “But I did say publicly on more than one occasion that I was sorry. That’s very different. The apology was public.”

It’s probably time to leave her alone about the matter. Wouldn’t you think she has complete remorse in her heart now for all that transpired? Clinton is the main instigator and culprit in this matter. He shows NO remorse at all for his actions nor does his wife. Will you only be happy when she commits suicide?

I personally don’t think such a question was helpful for anybody

Certainly no one forced you to make that decision did they?

Listening to liberals walk around and proclaim ‘ Its not sex! it’s not! I’ve never considered oral sex, sex ‘ after Clinton
made this claim was beyond astonishing.

Never in my life had I heard someone make such a claim and the very name of the act tells you it’s sex. Everyone knows what it is but these people would agree to anything to protect Clinton.

’ Blue cheese isn’t cheese! it’s not! I’ve never considered Blue cheese to be cheese ‘ - along those lines.

The left went completely around the bend with that Orwellian act.

I truly felt sorry for her at the time. It had to be terrible for her and pretty dang terrifying.

Footnote #476 sounds like Lewinsky was writing a new book:

Where did I say I wanted her to commit suicide or hurt herself in any way?

Re-read my original comment.

She is only famous for her relationship with Bill Clinton.

Why would she believe anyone is interested in her for any other reason?

They could always ask her, if she could be a tree, what kind of tree would she be?

Well, just the fact that she had a sex act named after her should count for something.

I feel sorry for her. She is not the first 20-something who did something stupid.

She paid a heavy price and he paid none at all. I puke when I see him and wonder what I would have done to him had he used my daughter in such a way.

No one would have ever heard of her had it not been for her poor decision making.

She was young, but she was an adult.

Those decision made not just famous, but infamous.

I feel for her as well. I just don’t absolve her from her bad decisions.

I feel kind of bad for her too. She made a mistake when she was young.

However she parlayed that mistake into a career of victimhood.

She can't expect to be remembered as being relevant but we're supposed to forget why she's famous and relevant.

Long ago somebody (here, I think?) pointed out that Donna Rice (of Gary Hart infamy) managed to regain a normal life...but that was because she decided to disappear from the spotlight and put the whole Gary Hart/”Monkey Business” association behind her.

I don’t get the impression that Monica has ever really tried to do that with regard to Clinton.

I can’t disagree with you and she is now old enough to know better.

I can’t imagine why she would do interviews and for the life of me I can’t understand anyone wanting to interview her. It’s not as if she has found the cure for cancer and could discuss that rather than the biggest cancer of all Clinton.
