[N]o such hearings were held with respect to the acknowledged FISA applications. Accordingly, no responsive hearing transcripts exist.
(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch today announced that in response to a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, the Justice Department (DOJ) admitted in a court filing last night that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court held no hearings on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) spy warrant applications targeting Carter Page, a former Trump campaign part-time advisor who was the subject of four controversial FISA warrants.
In the filing the Justice Department finally revealed that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court held no hearings on the Page FISA spy warrants, first issued in 2016 and subsequently renewed three times:
[National Security Division] FOIA consulted [Office of Intelligence] to identify and locate records responsive to [Judicial Watchs] FOIA request . [Office of Intelligence] determined that there were no records, electronic or paper, responsive to [Judicial Watchs] FOIA request with regard to Carter Page. [Office of Intelligence] further confirmed that the [Foreign Surveillance Court] considered the Page warrant applications based upon written submissions and did not hold any hearings.
The Department of Justice previously released to Judicial Watch the heavily redacted Page warrant applications. The initial Page FISA warrant was granted just weeks before the 2016 election.
The DOJ filing is in response to a Judicial Watch lawsuit for the FISA transcripts (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of Justice (No. 1:18-cv-01050)).
In February, Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee released a memo criticizing the FISA targeting of Carter Page. The memo details how the minimally corroborated Clinton-DNC dossier was an essential part of the FBI and DOJs applications for surveillance warrants to spy on Page.
Judicial Watch recently filed a request with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court seeking the transcripts of all hearings related to the surveillance of Carter Page.
It is disturbing that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance courts rubber-stamped the Carter Page spy warrants and held not one hearing on these extraordinary requests to spy on the Trump team, said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. Perhaps the court can now hold hearings on how justice was corrupted by material omissions that Hillary Clintons campaign, the DNC, a conflicted Bruce Ohr, a compromised Christopher Steele, and anti-Trumper Peter Strzok were all behind the intelligence used to persuade the courts to approve the FISA warrants that targeted the Trump team.

I believe Chief Justice John Roberts oversees the FISA courts . Is he not a bit culpable?
Think, just think about your comment. Is it plausible that the silence is proper procedure for a prosecutor?
Yes, some incredible work being done by them.
Obviously you're just as confused as I am.........
No checks. No balances. No hearings. No due process.
The Soviet legal system was less rigged than this.
Wow. Who was the judge that rubber stamped the authorization?
I interpreted it as the warrant was requested, however it was authorized/approved/signed off by a judge without any presentation of information.
Yeah....it may not be a court hearing it but may be one judge that signed off on it....who is this judge? Is she/he part of the coup or was duped by the DOJ? If duped then they should be mad and hold contempt of court against those who signed the affidavit....
There is yet another oddity in Saturdays release, but of unknown relevance: The dates in the applications and warrants were redacted. Why? One possibility: The dates of the verification of the applications coincide with (or near) the dates the FISA court issued the surveillance orders, demonstrating that the judges served as a mere rubber stamp on the requests and did not do a thorough review of the information.

So, whoever said not to tick off these deep state swamp people because they will “get” you was right! And it appears the deep state swamp extends to the FISA judges.
And it now appears there is no “rule of law” in DC. If this stuff keeps up, we’ll be a completely lawless third world country.
.
These “judges” need hanging...
I have said from the beginning I think tge the judges had to be in on it. No way they simply got fooled by the “evidence”. What happened to my country!! I blame stupid ass Americans who voted for liars and schemers like Bill Clinton and Obama. Don’t want to lose our abortions and social security.
God I love hubris.
Damn that list is long ...
But we have a covered.
Yes they were all in on it. They were busy making plans for undermining of all levels of govt under President Hilliary so they never thought any of this was going to come out. It is coup and they should be charged with treason. But who can do that? It is clear the AG will do nothing.
As Gomer Pyle would say, “Surprise, surprise”!!
If Page sues the FISA Court and all its judges (since he probably doesn’t know which ones heard the FISA warrant applications against him), they will have to be put under oath before a court or a federal grand jury and then tell the truth or go to jail and be exposed as a FISA judge.
We’re gonna need more tape recorders and tape!
Hmmmm. Interesting take on it and definitely not out of the realm of possibility. Given how corrupt this whole thing is, if it were presented to the ‘right’ judge, who was on board with all of this(as they seem to be), then it’s definitely believable that they could have pulled this off.
So:
1. They wrote the affidavit, never showed it to a judge and went up on the wire anyway
2. They and then judge are complicit in the whole thing, w/ the judge never having read the affidavit because they want the President out as much as anyone else.
Either way, it’s all illegal, starting from the very first utterance of anything: dossier, Papadopoulus, Paige, Flynn, everything is tainted as Fruit from the Poisonous Tree.
Trump is sensing that the tide has turned far enough that he will soon be able to rectify much of this crap w/o the Repubs taking a hit....tick-tock....tick-tock...Hey Sessions, what time do you have?
