Wow, hadn’t thought of Sugartown in decades. I didn’t particularly like the song when it came out, but it sure exemplifies the wide variety of music in the 60s and the fun lyrics and catchy tunes. So unlike today when every song sounds like any other.

Thanks. Herb Alpert is one of the coolest cats ever, with amazing chops. Still making great music at 83.

Good night....and I’m going, too. My dilated eyes are almost back to normal, but need rest.

You guys have a great Friday.

(Speaking of marijuana, this is a candy bar filled with marijuana, to go along with your song! (Only available legally in certain legal-marijuana states, like Colorado.) However, the name of the candy bar is now considered a racial slur.

"However, the name of the candy bar is now considered a racial slur." I know. I first found that picture the other day when I was doing a search for something for one of those Florida "monkey" threads. (I had never heard of those "spiked" candies before that. Apparently, that company sells all kinds of candies with that extra "kick", in those states where it is allowed.)
(And I can't believe all the "monkey" songs people came up with for those threads. I bet you could add a few more interesting but "obscure" (for most of us) songs from the distant past, that might apply to that subject in some way, with your broad and extensive knowledge of songs and music in general.)

How about a song about exotic cookery?
Monkey Hips & Rice--The Five Royales (1953)
The Five Royales are the group that gave us Laundromat Blues (1953), one of the few songs out there on the subject of washing machines.
