Dem hopes for senate takeover fade as Nelson stumbles in Florida

Democrats who still hold out hope for a takeover of the senate in November are fretting about the prospects of one of their most vulnerable incumbents.

Senator Bill Nelson is being outspent, out manuevered, and out classed in his race to keep his Florida senate seat blue. His opponent, Governor Rick Scott, has been all over the state, contrasting his vigorous campaign with that of the 75 year old Nelson.

Any hopes of Democrats taking over the senate hinge on them holding seats in states won by Trump in 2016. All are locked in tight races with excellent GOP challengers.

And Democrats worry that Nelson isn't up to the task.

Nelson will have to rent the rino’s casket and tow it around the state for votes.

I don’t trust Rick Scott as far as I can throw a Space Shuttle, but I’m glad Nelson’s time appears to be coming to an end.

Rick Scott is Jeb sans hair, but even he is better than Nelson.

This is largely an extract of a Politico article which is here.

Mr. Moran has an ongoing tendency to 'borrow' material from other authors.

Any “hopes” Democrats had were fake just as they are. Rs take 11 D seats. I stand by that prediction

He has to be one of the ugliest people in politics.

To the bone ugly both internally and externally. He is lower than whale $hit on the floor of the ocean.

I'm a Fla voter and yesterday I voted for Scott in the Repub primary. It will be the same in November, looking for a landslide for Scott and Desantis.

Sorry, all the space shuttles are in their final resting places so you can’t just be tossing them around any more. KSC, Smithsonian and LA(?).

Rick Scott will win the GOP Primary tomorrow in a landslide.

Scott will have the momentum to take out Bill Nelson in November.

I expect Ron DeSantis to be the GOP Governor candidate when the primary votes are counted tomorrow.

Together, Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott will keep Florida a Trump State in 2020.

I want to see Menendez go down. He should be in prison for corruption.

Even the Dems know he's corrupt and there is zero enthusiasm for him in NJ. If Hugin can get some excitement generated he could pull it out.

Hugin is pretty far left for a Republican, but he's still light years ahead of Menendez. And he's a Marine.

The Senate was NEVER in play... anyone who told you this either is completely ignorant, or a flat out liar... even the most basic understanding of US politics could look at the fall and tell you there is NO chance of the Dems taking the Senate... In fact, the most likely possibility is that the R’s will gain seats in the Senate. Personally I expect 6+ gain for the the GOP in the senate.

The house is a different issue, but the Senate was never in play.

It’s way past the time that Nelson should have been weaned from the government teat.

I never thought it was in play. Slight concern in NV where jackee rosen is running against Dean Heller. Not my fave but he ain’t a Las Vegas dem. Sadly, there are way more than enough potential voters in Vegas to negate the rest of the state.

Nelson has been useless for decades...

They could put a cardboard cutout in his Senate seat and nobody would notice...

“Together, Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott will keep Florida a Trump State in 2020.”

Fingers crossed for Florida!

Wisconsin is working hard to keep Governor Walker (R) and OUST Tammy Baldwin (D) and replace her with Leah Vukmir (R). We’ve had too many victories to go backwards, now!

Good Luck To Us Both! MAGA! :)
