The Motown station on Sirius XM (Channel 49) has been playing Aretha Franklin songs 24/7 since her death a week and a half ago, and they plan to continue it until August 31. I for one would rather listen to that than John McCain tributes. The Aretha tributes don’t come with any politics; they are even playing the Gospel songs from the beginning of her career.
McCain wasn’t worthy to shine Aretha’s shoes.
This is all about making it easier to appoint his wife as his replacement.
I’m hearing from Larry Schweikart that it is unlikely that either McCain will be appointed. Since he is AZ-based these days, he may have the inside skinny.
It makes sense, because McCain could have made a deal to appoint one of his kin, in return for resigning. The fact it never happened suggests to me that it will not be a relative of his.
We called him McNuts for good reason. He was damn near certifiable.
I wont trash the guy at this time, but one couldnt fill a Post-It note with any worthy accomplishments.
May we have a moment of silence for the valiant tumor?
That tumor did such a service to the nation President Trump should award it a medal.
Goodbye John McCain, I wish we had never known you.
I don't know that John McCain ruined Sarahs life, but he certainly did do a lot to ruin her political career.
I think she would have gone from strength to strength as Alaska governor, and would likely have served two or three terms in that office, eventually becoming a major force in the Republican party.
Perhaps there's still a leadership role for Sarah to fill in the MAGA era. I would very much like to see that.
The man was a disreputable, dishonorable, self-serving scumbag, with a mercurial, vindictive nature. In short, he was a first class bastard, who wouldn't hesitate to stab a colleague (or constituent) in the back, if he felt slighted by them.
He earned every ounce of spittle being hurled his way today.
It’s just a shame that freeper Kenny Bunk isn’t still with us, to share some of his withering and very funny take downs of John McCain.
Yes, Pelham. It is an enduring disservice to the legions of electrical engineers, physicists, experts in safeing, arming, and fusing - who dedicated their lives to this mission at places like White Oak - that “an electrical anomaly caused a Zuni rocket on a McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom to fire, striking an external fuel tank of a A-4 Skyhawk.” Oh well. May he rest in peace.
More important, McCain’s family/staff/expressed personal wish DELIBERATE delay of their announcement to “pull the plug” until mere hours BEFORE the republican AZ primary - let alone the wait until AFTER a Nov re-election for his appointed heir by the AZ governor (May 25 deadline for a Nov 2018 election requirement for the appointed replacement) allows McCain’s friends in the statehouse to manipulate the primary AGAINST the conservative.
but Joe should still pull out - NOW!
I was so assured by a GOP activist who was told this by Ducey herself.
I left out quite a bit, and concentrated on his most recent behavior (from 2008 on). But you are correct. Let me restate your points:
Near last in his class at Naval Academy.
Incompetent flier for the Navy.
Dumped his wife, horribly injured in a car crash, for a beer baron floozy.
On the take as one of the Keating 5.

Hi LAZ! Excellent post!
In your summation of the 4 points, I have one change I would suggest:
“Dumped his wife, horribly injured in a car crash, for a beer baron floozy.”
Should read:
“Dumped his wife, horribly injured in a car crash, for a RICH beer baron floozy.”
(I note that “baron” sort of implies that, but I like it plain and out there in the open! LOL!”
“...CNN should report this!...”
But they won’t.
YES
Thank you sir.
My mother always told me I should never speak ill of the dead. However, I routinely ignore my mother's advice.
LOL!
He was a "Maverick" and beloved by the MSM until he was running against Obama and then they turned on him. Even after he said Obama would make a great president, during his campaign. Poor Ms. Palin. I voted for her, not for him.
Once gelded he again became the voice of the pubbie party. Even on Fox. He did conservatives no favors - he was a DIM in RINO clothing. A never-Trumper. Bye.
Okay.
How about now?
