Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents entered Sacramento Superior Court last week and handcuffed an immigrant, making an arrest inside a courtroom that is considered a first of its type in the state, one that could have a chilling effect across California.
“This will turn the judicial system on its head,” Sacramento attorney Charles Pacheco said.
Pacheco said Wednesday’s arrest happened as a Sacramento Superior Court arraignment for his client, Yovanny Ontiveros-Cebreros, was concluding. Pacheco said ICE agents placed his client in handcuffs.
Pacheco said he asked Superior Court Judge Lawrence Brown to step in, and Brown placed Ontiveros-Cebreros in the area behind the bar that’s designated for defendants who are in custody before proceeding to hear another 10 cases.
After Brown concluded hearing his other cases, he entered his chambers only to return to the bench and say that ICE had a warrant for Ontiveros-Cebreros’ arrest, Pacheco said. Brown was “puzzled,” Pacheco said.
“The judge was weak — he had no control of his courtroom, and allowed the federal government to come into his court,” Pacheco said. “He (Brown) just wanted to neutralize the situation, so he could figure out what was going on, and then he felt that it was justified that the (ICE) guy said there was a warrant for illegal re-entry.”
Brown responded to Pacheco’s comments in a statement to The Sacramento Bee, explaining that judges do not prevent lawful arrest warrants from being enforced.

The Cal. Supreme Court justice is full of shit and she knows it. If illegal aliens cause crime, THEY CAUSE CRIME whether or not the legal or other illegal immigrants call the police or not. If it is rising, that is their problem.
A few good anonymous calls could bring down a whole lot of gangs and individual criminals.

yep, as far as I am concerned if the army does not surround say la and remove all illegals its just posturing politically..not serious just bluster..we cannot take the influx and survive..systems failing before our eyes including justice department..
But there are snipers on the roofs and we need to protect him.
I TRUST the SS has been sorted and sifted so that only the best and at the LEAST, non partisan folks are protecting The Donald.
It’s been over a year and a half. I was concerned about this in the beginning, no offense to SS folks.
But after seeing what the FBI is capable of, it is getting difficult to trust anyone in power anymore.

Indeed, CA forbids its police and sheriffs from cooperating with ICE detainers etc, so, while the wanted “immigrant, illegal” was out of jail but still in custody, ICE took him into federal custody. So, ICE simply compared dockets at local courts for names of “immigrants, illegal” they are interested in and voila, take them off the locals hands.
FU CA.
Betcha soon see a CA law requiring judges to hold court in the jails, for “immigrants, illegal” so that ICE cannot take them into custody.
Where are the normal people in CA? Are there any?
There a several “no Go” states in this country, IL, NY NJ, MD and NEastwards ( sorry VH, VT ME) and the then left coast for the most part...
Illinois is not a bad state as long as you stay out of Chicago and Cook County in the north, and Madison and St. Clair Counties in the south.
Same for all the other rural areas in the states I mentioned- however, the laws apply state-wide. So, sorry to the good folks everywhere-your states overall standing makes them nauseating to me.
I am a native Broome Co NYer, but will not likely ever return except to bury my mother. And then I will stay in PA just over the line.
When I drive eastward, I buy gas in STL MO and drive to IN or TN w/o stopping in IL. Not a penny.

How dare law enforcement enforce the law in a court of law. If things keep going this way we might end up with equal justice for everyone.

We conservatives, for the most part, can protect ourselves. In the ‘hood things will get dicey.
