Attorney General Jeff Sessions pushed back against President Donald Trump on Thursday, saying in a statement released by a spokesperson that the Department of Justice would not be "improperly influenced by political considerations" hours after Trump attacked him on television.
"I took control of the Department of Justice the day I was sworn in, which is why we have had unprecedented success at effectuating the President's agenda," Sessions said in the statement which was posted on Twitter by Justice Department spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores.

Exactly. I would like anyone on this site to name ONE thing that President Trump has NOT been able to accomplish just because Jeff Sessions is the U.S. Attorney General for the last 18+ months.
Jeff Sessions: ‘Actions of DOJ will not be influenced by CONSTITUTIONAL considerations’
NUKE SESSIONS!!!
You have no idea why Sessions refused himself, do you?
And yet after 18 months, who is the ONE person in Washington whose public approval rating is the highest it has been since 2016?
Trump hasn’t even given Sessions a Twitter nickname. That ought to tell you everything right there.
+1
By taking this course, there Beauregard, you are being improperly influenced by political considerations. You phony POS
Either Sessions is in the process of pulling off the best rope-a-dope in world history OR he’s a feckless coward and will be an eternal stain on the great state of Alabama.
It’s about the weirdest political thing I can recall seeing.
But imagine, just IMAGINE if this has all been a covert play all along and he ends up indicting half of DC !
Won’t be holding my breath, but lordy !
Joke.
Idjit.
There’s a cryptic trolling quality to the statement from the Mighty AG.
I think we’re about to enter into another phase and you will hear the gnashing of teeth from hell like never before.
SpyGate baby, SpyGate.
This is how we all feel! Do something Sessions! We need to cut our losses here. What was the plan B, C, or D? Plan A sucks!
The count of indictments in SpyGate is currently zero.
I don’t expect that to last much longer.
Clintons got numerous raw FBI files on Washington congress critters. I’d bet every penny I have they have dirt on Sessions.
I can’t think of any other reason to be so obtuse.
I hate to wish death on any one but if Sessions drops dead from natural causes, I may have to open my best bottle of cognac.
And if Sessions wants to follow rules and law, is he not aware that congress has oversight authority over DOJ, and it is therefore a CRIME TO STONEWALL documents asked by congressional committee’s?
A mayor? That is way above Jeff’s competence. At best he could serve as a deputy prosecutor in San Francisco City prosecutor’s office, prosecuting pot smokers.
Everyone knows every committee in the Senate and Congress fights over the release of every scrap of information in every report. Thus Jeff Sessions is by his own admission not supporting his president. Jeff has shown his hand as a do nothing either way, thus he is harming the president by taking away a critical appointee position. It is too damn bad Jeff does not expire from natural causes....
Exactly. Wake up, Jeffy! Wake up!
I dont expect that to last much longer.
Sessions is not going to indict anybody going into the election cycle.
