Officials at Arlington National Cemetery announced that they had evacuated the area after a bomb threat Wednesday morning.
All visitors and staff had been safely removed from the area and the emergency services are investigating, according to the statement.
"We will update the public as soon as we have additional information," officials added.

I get what you’re saying. My view was that it was a FORM of terrorism in that the call was intended to instill fear in people who go there and/or disrupt normal operations. Not an act of terrorism per se, but still achieving a desired “result”.

WASHINGTON — Arlington National Cemetery is closed to the public for the rest of the day as a bomb threat is investigated.
At 12 p.m., the cemetery announced it was closing to the public for the rest of the day, however, funeral services that are underway will continue, according to Arlington National spokeswoman Barbara M. Lewandrowski.
Bomb technicians are sweeping cars, looking for explosives.
The cemetery sent out a tweet confirming there was an investigation underway just before 11 a.m. and all visitors, families and employees have been safely evacuated from the public buildings and work areas on the premises.
UPDATE: As of 12 p.m., we are closed to the public the rest of the day. We will conduct all funerals as scheduled.It is not known how the threat came in, or what areas of the cemetery are affected.We will continue to post updates on our website and social media platforms. https://t.co/gU5XSGeXVg

We took AMTRAK to Chicago from Michigan. AMTRAK says they will check your bags, purses for security reasons.
At Union Station, in Grand Mall, we were told to line up by a security official. We then marched through the halls down to our train. Only one security official at the head of the line for our march. One cop and dog walked by us. That was it. No one’s personal items, carry on luggage was searched. We didn’t go through metal detectors.
Sitting ducks for anyone on a train and terrorist who wants to blow them up.
