WASHINGTON Republican Troy Balderson further expanded his slim lead after all votes were counted in Delaware and Muskingum counties, and Democrat Danny OConnor is not close enough yet to force a recount in the hotly contested Aug. 7 special election to finish out the term of Rep. Pat Tiberi.
Balderson, a Zanesville Republican who serves in the state Senate, held a narrow lead over the Franklin County recorder on election night, but the seven counties in the 12th Congressional District were still counting provisional and absentee ballots early this week. Two, Delaware and Muskingum, now have certified their final totals.
In Delaware County, Balderson gained 826 votes since Election Day, finishing with 32,576 votes, nearly 54 percent, while OConnor ended with 27,548, a gain of 674 votes. That gave Balderson a 152-vote net gain in the county. Green Party candidate Joe Manchik finished with 240 votes.
In Muskingum County, Balderson officially got 7,927 votes while OConnor received 3,900 votes, giving Balderson a net 95-vote gain over OConnor since Election Day, while winning his home county 66 percent to 33 percent.
The counts mean Baldersons lead has extended to 1,781 votes with five counties remaining, four of which lean Republican. The math makes it nearly impossible for OConnor to make up that difference, though he gets an automatic recount if the final total is within 0.5 percent.

And then we get to do it all over again in November......
Part of the long-term Democrat Strategy to give everybody election fatigue and to lose faith in the results so they can just continue to steal them.
It ain’t over til the Democrat wins...................
That’s partially it.
They want people to get thoroughly disgusted with the election system itself so that many will believe their votes don’t count and stay home on election day.
Then their thugs can run rampant....................
The Dems still have a warehouse full of uncounted ballots with just enough Dem votes to pull out a victory. And, if need be, there is still an SUV parked out back stuffed with uncounted ballots.
Hang in there guys, it isn’t over until the Democrat gets enough votes.
7,927 - 3,900 = 95 ? How ? LOL
net 95 over last totals, not current vote differential.
Easy win in Nov., the Democrats got 90% of their people to vote, the GOP 40%.
Five or six years after I left Ohio I got a letter from the county registrar’s office asking me if I intended to renew my voters registration.
Really made me wonder who had been casting my votes all that time?
And dont forget the ballots in the used pizza boxes.
“...Democrat Danny OConnor is not close enough yet to force a recount...”
QUICK!
Somebody go “find some ballots” that will swing the result!
I mean — admit it — whenever it’s close, and the Republican is leading, isn’t there, these days, always this sense of waiting for the inevitable?
“Oh, look! A bunch of uncounted ballots, and — lo, and behold — 93% of them are votes for the Democrat! Oh, and will ya look at that: it’s JUST enough to edge the Republican out of the lead! It’s a miracle! Who’d have ever thought it could happen?”
The math makes it nearly impossible for OConnor to make up that difference, though he gets an automatic recount if the final total is within 0.5 percent.>>>>>>>>>
The dems don’t care about “math.”
They just go on finding more lost ballot boxes.
In other good news from Ohio, Kasich To Skip GOP Dinner In Ohio With Trump. Thanks 11th_VA.
They tried it the day after the ballot, wasn’t enough. Apparently they also can’t count worth a d***.
