WORD POWER!!
During the invasion of Salerno, Allied forces employed propaganda on a scale they had never tried before. Artillery was used to fire shells, each containing thousands of leaflets, encouraging the Germans to surrender and promising them humane treatment if they did. The shells would open about 300 feet in the air and rain down the leaflets on German troops. One British Major made no secret of his anger at having to fire leaflets at the enemy instead of high explosives. In a short while, however, he changed his mind. For days his men had been slugging it out with German artillery. One gun was particularly well-concealed and all efforts to pinpoint its location failed. This one gun claimed 100 British lived in four days. Then, a German soldier surrendered as a result of one of the leaflets. He told the British where the German artillery was hidden. This information enabled the British forces to target that menacing artillery and knock it out in short order. Many of the Major's men lived because of the little leaflets. Besides being an interesting history lesson, we can learn something here. How often in my career have I visited someone in the hospital or brig as a result of a fight that should never have taken place. Or how many people wound up in Family Advocacy because they were violent to a spouse or child. Why? Because the individuals involved resorted to settling differences with fists when they should have settled things with words. Like the Major who learned that firing off words instead of explosives could sometimes spare a lot of lives, in our personal and family lives we must always remain cool when differences of opinion threaten to flare into violence. It is then we must get a grip and resolve things through positive communication. It really works! God Bless & Stay Great! Chaplain Mitch Schranz

Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Hope all’s going well out your way and that you’ve had better luck with storms than we have. We have a mess to clean up after Thurs. night’s storm roared through.
I see there are storms moving into OK now and hope they don’t amount to much when they reach you.

All I got to say is...parts is parts! LOL!
Thanks for the picture. Lots of work there. Nighty-night. Tomorrow is head-bonking time if I don’t get to sleep. :)

Heck, the one that looks like parts is a full mannequin. Crazy design and it was a booger to wrestle onto the table to clean the hospital gown it’s wearing. It’s easier to deal with the rigid mannequins.
When these are taken care of, there are PLENTY more to clean. I’ll be doing this for a long time yet and lovin’ every minute of it.
Hope you get some of the rain tomorrow that’s moving into TX tonight. That would make for a wonderful day! Good night and sleep well.

If I spent all weekend on the paperwork I might make a dent. LOL!
If the “original” Direct Deposit paperwork, or the “original” child support order or student loan garnishment didn’t need to be copied to someone’s master file, I would just gather them up and put them in the shredder. I put them in the proper files when I got them, but the pile to be filed in master files is huge. I filed half a dozen today from November 2016, and I’m betting there are even some older ones. We can only do so much in the allotted time with the number of bodies we have. Some things get set aside for “when we have time”.
Lunch was great fun and relaxing. We already decided to go to Mexico in Alaska next time out. Dot’s 90th birthday was there and it was great food.
And now I am going to the living room and watch a movie and probably fall asleep.
Rest well when you get there.

They really do expect an awful lot out of the four of you and you don’t have time to do it all. There’s a job they should get a temp for ..... filing! :-)
Great fun and relaxing ... now there’s an excellent combination. Excellent timing, too, after the week you had. Glad you had a great time.
Good night and sleep well.

Well, thankfully we didn't lose power after the storm yesterday. Just some wind and thunder and lightning and rain and that was about it.
We do have some storms headed this way but right now just some scattered thunder and that's about it.

Glad you didn’t lose power or have damage. Storms can get so ugly over there.
We didn’t lose power but lost phone service. We hope it will be back up Monday. No building damage here but Hubby’s cousin’s tractor shed roof is messed up. Both farms have tree damage and I saw several big trees messed up when I went to the museum this morning.
Cool lightning map! Saved that link. :-)

"I VOW TO THEE, my country, all earthly things above, Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love; The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test, That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best; The love that never falters, the love that pays the price, The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.
And there's another country, I've heard of long ago, Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know; We may not count her armies, we may not see her King; Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering; And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase, And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace."

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!
Amazing Grace (Click)
By John Newton
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snares, I have already come; Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, Who called me here below, Will be forever mine.
When weve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, Weve no less days to sing Gods praise Than when wed first begun.
