NAACP's own poll reveals surge in black support for Trump – and they react badly

Dependence on 90% voting support from African-Americans for electoral success is the jugular vein of the Democratic Party.  President Trump's rising support among black voters is correctly seen as an existential threat to the party's – and progressivism's – ability to win national elections.  That's why I thought it was big news last Saturday when Rasmussen proclaimed that black approval of Trump had hit 29%, even though most of the media ignored it for reasons AT readers well understand.

But the surge in black support for President Trump is real – so real that even the far-left NAACP discovered it in a poll, though that poll (perhaps with a differently worded question) put the support at 21%.  Here is a graphic presentation of the result, showing the support for Trump among various ethnicities:

What's a race victimology group to do with this?  Of course, double down on charges that Trump is a racist.  Paul Bedard of the Washington Examiner:

The NAACP said in its poll analysis, "Voters across all racial and ethnic groups believe Trump is setting race relations back.  Three quarters of African-Americans, Latinos and Asian-Americans believe Trump is setting race relations back while a small majority of white voters believe so.  Black women (89 percent), in particular, feel disrespected by President Trump."

If calling Trump a racist hasn't stemmed the flow of black support his way, there is no reason to believe that shouting it more will start working.  It's almost as if the groups that purport to represent the interests of African-Americans are really more worried about their own careers.

One liberal dogma is that people would rather get a handout for doing nothing rather than a paid job for doing something.

For some people, that's true.

...and...many voters who turned out for Trump in 2016 may not be registered Repubs, but Dems. They aren’t eligible to vote in a Repub primary.

Don't worry. Omarosa and the entire DNC Media are working on getting that number down.

They have over two Months before the Midterms to get it done.

It’s not easy leaving the Democrat Plantation but it’s the best choice the black community can make.

Democrats have been using blacks as pawns and excuses and pets for years... AND not doing a damn to bring the black community into the middle class...

It’s time. It’s time to leave the plantation...

Ok, everyone recognize this is not a fast move. In 1932, blacks voted overwhelmingly for Hoover, but moved in 1936. They could have moved back if the GOP had addressed them at all.

In 2016, we saw 3% fewer blacks vote in several key states: NC, FL, PA, MI, VA, WI. A mere 3% in FL was 115,000 votes!!

Note they didn’t vote for Trump (yet), but they were done with the D party. Currently Trump’s approval #s move from 16% to the 20s, but what’s more important is that in the SurveyMonkey survey, originally 56% of the blacks in that survey said they were DemoKKKrats. Today that number is down to 21%. Note that this is a “rolling survey” that keeps people on, so these aren’t one group of people leaving and a different group coming in-—the SAME GROUP has stayed there, more or less, the whole time.

That means we aren’t seeing “different blacks”-—we are seeing the same people changing their opinions, and very consistently in one direction.

Based on that, in 2020 I think you could expect 15-20% black vote for Trump . . .but another 20-25% of black voters just staying home, then the next cycle a large segment of them would join the GOP and still more would “un-register” as Ds until the Ds are down to 10%.

Note also that for now that support is for Trump. Rs have only gained about 4% since November 2016. Rs will have to be very Trump-like to stretch their appeal, but Trump shows it can be done with a very conservative agenda.
